Dehoff Destroyed

On a flop of {3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, Frank Dehoff and Joe McGowan are all in.

Dehoff: {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
McGowan: {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}

The turn and river are {8-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. The club doesn't come and Dehoff is out. McGowan has 265,000.

Spun Out of Here

Shane Warne and Elie Said saw a flop of {7-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {3-Diamonds}. Warne was in the small blind and led out for 10,000 before Said moved all in for 42,000. Warne made the call with {8-Spades} {8-Diamonds} and was in great shape against Said's {A-Hearts} {8-Clubs}.

The turn came {7-Hearts} and river {Q-Diamonds} giving the wicket, sorry, I mean the pot to Warne. He's up to 146,000 as Said is on zero.

Scott Clements Eliminated

Preflop, Scott Clements made it 5,000 to go from the small blind and the big blind raised it up to 15,000. Scott moved all in for his remaining 66,000 and his opponent went into the tank.

He eventually called and showed A-Q only to see that he was behind Clement's A-K. However, Clement's opponent spiked a queen on the turn, sending Clements home early.

Victor Ramdin Chipping Up

Action folded around to Daniel Deveau on the button and he raised to 4,500. Victor Ramdin reraised to 15,500 from the small blind and Deveau made it 28,000 to play. Ramdin put in a fourth raise of 80,000, enough to put Deveau all in and he made the call. The players showed:

Deveau: {7-Clubs} {7-Hearts}
Ramdin: {A-Diamonds} {A-Spades}

The board ran out {10-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} {2-Hearts} {Q-Spades} {A-Clubs} and Ramdin's set of aces was best. He knocked out Deveau and is now working with a stack of just over 400,000.

Barrile Finds An O'Aces in the Desert

Herbie Montalbano open-shoved all in for 18,000 from under the gun. Chris Barrile flat-called from the cutoff. Anthony Smith peeked at his cards and then announced that he was all in from the small blind for 155,000. Barrile beat him into the pot with a call.

Barrile: {A-Hearts} {A-Clubs}
Smith: {Q-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds}
Montalbano: {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}

Barrile was in a great position to win a huge pot if he could stay ahead in the hand.

The flop came down {K-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} and so far so good for Barrile. The turn was the {8-Clubs} and then the river the {9-Hearts}.

Barrile moved up to 390,000 after a whopper of a pot and eliminated both Montalbano and Smith.

Interesting Table

A really interesting table has emerged in the Blue Section here in the Amazon Room. Our chip leader with 824,000 is Brian Schaedlich and he has just been sat along side Thor Hansen and Jeff Kimber.

Thor, although seated to Schaedlich's right, is hugely experienced and will be all too aware that having the relatively inexperienced chip leader at your table offers vast opportunities to do well in this tournament.

Seated at the other end of the table is Jeff Kimber. Kimber is very highly thought of in Europe and is last year's World Heads-Up Champion. He has really managed to grow his stack today (170,000 rise) and will now look to get heads-up with Schaedlich and do some real damage.

Rivera Runs Into a Bigger Hand

Anthony Rivera called a raise from the big blind from Peter Traply. The flop came down {8-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} when Rivera check-raised his single opponent. Traply then put Rivera all in and Rivera made the call, getting his remaining 70,000 chips in the middle on the flop.

Rivera held pocket jacks, but was behind Traply's queens. The turn came the {10-Hearts} and the river the {2-Hearts}.

Rivera left the tournament area slowly and unsatisfied with himself in the event. He was able to come away with a big win in the $10,000 World Championship Mixed Event when he took home the bracelet.

Slot Broken

Mark Slot moved all in for 38,000 total preflop against a player in the small blind and received a call. Slot held {9-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} and his opponent held {A-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}.

Board: {10-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {K-Spades} {5-Clubs}

Ace high was good enough to send Slot to the rail.

This Is Your 2PM Wake-Up Call

Call, fists pounding on the door, whatever. Apparently the reason why Jeff Madsen hasn't shown up today is because he uses his iPod as his alarm clock and his iPod ran out of juice. People have been trying to call him to no avail and now someone has actually been dispatched to his house to (gently) wake Jeff up and hustle him to the Amazon Room.

Biggest Pot So Far

JaffaCake on the up.
JaffaCake on the up.
Brian Schaedlich limped from early position before Jeff Kimber raised to 6,000 from the button and Schaedlich made the call before the flop came {Q-Spades} {3-Diamonds} {5-Hearts}.

Schaedlich checked to face a 6,000 bet from Kimber that he raised up to 15,000. Kimber then reraised up to 50,000 before Schaedlich raised again and for all his chips. It was a huge raise considering how deep these two were.

Kimber snap-called with {Q-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} and a shell-shocked Schaedlich turned over {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} . The turn came {10-Diamonds} and river {4-Clubs} to hand the biggest pot of this year's Main Event to Jeff Kimber, a massive 681,000.

Schaedlich's back down to 387,000 and, as he was handing over chips, he commented "What could I do?"

Kimber said he would never have gone to war without the goods because of the size of Schaedlich's stack.
