Phil Hellmuth Eliminated in 45th Place ($154,400)

Phil Hellmuth - 45th Place
Phil Hellmuth - 45th Place
Phil Hellmuth was under the gun and pushed his entire stack of 405,000 into the middle. Action folded to Andrew Rosskamm, who made the call. The crowd instantly got on their feet, and after the other players folded, the players showed:

Hellmuth: {A-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}
Rosskamm: {J-Clubs} {J-Hearts}

Hellmuth looked over to his wife and said, "Honey, I'm all in!" The audience cheered for various flops and Hellmuth turned his back to the action. The dealer put out the flop and the crowd remained relatively silent as it fell {K-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {3-Hearts}. Rosskamm's jacks still led, and with the crowd firmly on Hellmuth's side, it was still very quiet.

After a dramatic pause, the {10-Hearts} hit the turn. This card gave Hellmuth the nut flush draw as well as an inside straight draw to go with his overcards.

With everyone standing and anticipation at its peak, the {2-Spades} hit the river, which was no help to Hellmuth. Rosskamm's entourage celebrated, though it was barely audible amongst the disappointment of Hellmuth's supporters.

Phil Hellmuth was eliminated in 45th place and added $154,400 to his career earnings.

Too Expensive

We caught up to this pot on the turn and the board reading {6-Spades} {K-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} . Kido Pham checked from the small blind and Ivan Demidov bet 100,000 from the big blind. Tiffany Michelle raised to 300,000 and both Kido and Ivan made the call. The river brought the {4-Hearts}. Pham and Demidov checked and Michelle made a 600,000 bet, which was big enough to chase the others out of the pot and push her stack up to 5.8 million. Demidov has almost the same amount and Pham is down to 1.95 million.

Joe Bishop Chips Up with Full House

Ivan Demidov raised to 125,000 and Joe Bishop called from the big blind. The flop was {10-Spades} {8-Spades} {5-Hearts}. Bishop led out for 150,000 and Demidov called. The turn was the {10-Diamonds} and both players checked. The river was the {K-Clubs}. Bishop bet 250,000 and Demidov called.

Bishop showed {K-Hearts} {10-Hearts} and Demidov mucked. After the hand, Bishop was up to 4.75 million while Demidov fell to 5.3 million.
