Albert Kim Puts Bishop in Check

Action folded to Joe Bishop in middle position and he raised to 225,000. Albert Kim made the call from late position and they took a flop heads up.

The flop came {A-Clubs} {9-Spades} {8-Diamonds} and Bishop led out for 350,000. Kim raised to 950,000 and Bishop made a relatively quick call.

The {Q-Clubs} hit the turn and both players checked. When the {Q-Hearts} hit the river, Bishop checked and said, "You're not gonna bet here." Kim did indeed bet, this time 600,000. Bishop took his time before finally calling. Kim showed {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} and while he waited for Bishop he nervously said, "Now don't slow-roll me."

Bishop threw his hand into the muck and Kim stacked the pot. He is now up to just over 8,000,000, while Bishop slipped to just over 5,000,000 chips.

Who Needs a Flop?

Jason Riesenberg opened for 150,000 from middle position, Clint Schaefer called from late position, Nick Sliwinski reraised to 500,000 from the small blind, Riesenberg moved all in and both Schaefer and Sliwinski folded.

After the hand, Riesenberg was up to 1,970,000, Schaefer was at 2,080,000 and Sliwinski held 2.8 million.

Niklas Flisberg Doubles Up

Niklas Flisberg moved all in for his last 450,000 with {K-Clubs} {10-Spades} and Peter Neff called in the small blind with {A-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}. But Flisberg outflopped him on the {10-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {8-Spades} flop and when the {9-Spades} {5-Hearts} fell on the turn and river Flisberg doubled to 1 million, while Neff fell to an almost identical 1.05 million.

Kido Pham Eliminated in 41st Place ($154,400)

Kido Pham - 41st Place
Kido Pham - 41st Place
Joe Bishop opened for a raise to 225,000 from middle position. Action folded to Kido Pham in the small blind and he moved all in for 1,130,000. Bishop took about two minutes before finally calling and the players showed:

Pham: {A-Hearts} {K-Spades}
Bishop: {J-Diamonds} {J-Clubs}

The flop came {J-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} and the crowd gasped. Bishop flopped top set but left Pham with an inside straight draw.

The turn fell the {9-Clubs}, which sealed the deal. Bishop's full house was unbeatable and the {3-Spades} on the river was a mere formality.

Pham pushed his remaining chips over to Bishop and gracefully made his way towards the exit amidst a round of applause from the gallery. He was eliminated in 41st place and leaves with $154,400 to show for it.

Mauro Lupo - 40th Place
Mauro Lupo and Peter Eastgate saw a flop of {Q-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} and when Eastgate bet 200,000 Lupo moved all in for his last 1.2 million. Eastgate called with {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} for the flush draw and overcards to Lupo's {Q-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} and top pair. The situation was quickly reversed when the {K-Spades} spiked on the turn and when the {10-Hearts} fell on the river Lupo was eliminated.

Bad Fold?

Clint Schafer raised to 150,000 from early position and Nicholas Sliwinski called from the cutoff. The flop was {10-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {5-Spades}. Schafer bet 225,000 and Sliwinski called. The turn was the {3-Spades}. Schafer bet another 600,000, Sliwinski moved all in for 2.7 million and after a long think, Schafer folded.

Sliwinski showed {A-Hearts} {5-Hearts} -- a pair and a flush draw and Schafer slammed the table in anger. Sliwinski is now up to 4.2 million while Schafer was left with 1,030,000.

Craig Marquis Doubles Through Aaron Gordon

Craig Marquis
Craig Marquis
Craig Marquis and Aaron Gordon saw a flop of {A-Spades} {6-Hearts} {5-Hearts} with two other players. The two got into a raising war that resulted in Marquis's tournament life hanging in the balance. He was all in against Aaron Gordon and the players showed:

Marquis: {A-Clubs} {6-Clubs}
Gordon: {A-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds}

It was two pair against two pair with Marquis having the edge. The turn sealed the deal as it came the {6-Diamonds} and Marquis doubled to just over 6,100,000. Gordon was left with about 1,250,000 after the hand.

Craig Stein Eliminated in 39th Place ($154,400)

Craig Stein - 39th Place
Craig Stein - 39th Place
Andrew Brokos raised to 135,000, Darus Suharto called on the button, and Craig Stein moved all in for 580,000 from the big blind. Brokos folded and Suharto called.

Stein: {A-Clubs} {J-Hearts}

Suharto: {Q-Clubs} {Q-Spades}

Suharto flopped top set when it came down {Q-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {2-Hearts}, but Stein still had hope with a flush draw. The turn, though was the {6-Clubs}, the river was the {2-Diamonds} and Stein's Main Event came to a close. He'll leave us in 39th place, collecting $154,400.
