Varahram Vardjavand Eliminated

John Juanda is emerging as his table's one-man wrecking ball, as he just took out another short stack.

Varahram Vardjavand moved all in before the flop with a premium hand indeed, {K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {J-Clubs} and John Juanda called the relatively small amount with a not-so-premium hand, {Q-Clubs} {5-Spades} {3-Spades} {2-Clubs}.

The board ran out {7-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {6-Spades} {4-Spades} {4-Diamonds}, Juanda making a seven-high straight to send Vardjavand to the rail.

We're now only two spots off the money.

Steve Sung Doubles Through Anders Taylor

Anders Taylor led out for 17,000 on a flop of {Q-Hearts} {J-Spades} {2-Spades} and Steve Sung made the call from the button. The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and Taylor moved all in, having Sung covered. Sung called off the 21,800 he had behind, turning up {K-Hearts} {Q-Spades} {J-Hearts} {8-Spades} for top two pair and a flush draw while Taylor showed {A-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {2-Diamonds}. The river was the {5-Diamonds} and Sung took it down, increasing his stack to 89,000 while Taylor slipped to 38,000.

The Bubble Approacheth

Just 48 players remain in this event, with the top 45 making the money. Look for play to slow down over the next few minutes as players fight not to become Bubble Boy.

Bad Timing for Tsopkounis

Con Tsopkounis got all in preflop against Andrew Batey and only caught top pair with his {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{8-Spades} when the cards fell {4-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{K-Hearts}.

Andrew Batey fared much better, as his {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}{J-Spades}{2-Hearts} gave him top set and the pot, sending Tsopkounis home just before the money.

Yadin Shemmer Eliminated by John Juanda

On a flop of {9-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {3-Spades}, Yadin Shemmer moved all in for his remaining 9,600 and John Juanda made the call.

Shemmer {K-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {3-Clubs}
Juanda {A-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {9-Diamonds}

Juanda was well ahead with top set and his hand held up through the {A-Spades} on the turn and the {Q-Hearts} on the river to send Shemmer home.

Jeff Chapman Eliminated

We had three way action on a flop of {8-Hearts}{3-Spades}{7-Clubs} when Jeff Chapman pushed all in for his last 6,700 and got called by both David Chiu and Anders Taylor.

Chiu then check-called another 8,300 when the {9-Diamonds} appeared on fourth street, and check-folded after Taylor bet 22,600 at the {2-Spades} on the river.

When the final two hands were shown, Chapman held {7-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} for two pair while Taylor made a jack-high straight with {Q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{J-Spades}.

Taylor's stack now sits at 91,000 while Chiu is still OK with 66,000.

Rios Reclaims Chips

With the board reading {A-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {6-Hearts} on the turn, Andrew Batey checked over to Jesse Rios, who moved all in for 14,600. Batey made the call.

Rios {A-Hearts} {A-Spades} {9-Hearts} {7-Diamonds}
Batey {K-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {4-Spades}

This time, Rios had a hand with a set of aces, and his nemesis Batey was on the nut flush draw. Batey couldn't get there on the river, which fell the {Q-Hearts} and Rios reclaimed some of his lost chips, doubling up to 42,000. Batey was left with 93,000.

Rios Makes a Move at the Wrong Time

With the board reading {A-Hearts} {J-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {6-Spades} on the turn, Andrew Batey made a small bet of 8,500, Jesse Rios made a pot-sized raise to 54,100 and Batey happily called all in, tabling {A-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} {8-Clubs} for the full house. Rios was drawing dead with {10-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {4-Hearts} {3-Diamonds}.

The irrelevant river card was the {5-Spades} and Rios shipped the vast majority of his stack over to Batey, who is up to 122,000. Rios was left with 24,000.
