The Smell of Ivey

Erik Seidel is up to 7,000 already. He raised from MP and was called in two spots before the flop came {2-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {Q-Spades}. He led for 500 and was only called in one spot this time and the turn came {7-Diamonds}. Both players happily checked this time to see the {7-Diamonds} river. Seidel found his betting shoes again and led for 600. He was called and happy to see his {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} good for the pot and his opponent mucked.

With Phil Ivey just one behind him in bracelets, Seidel will want to add another one himself ASAP.

Tanking Gavin

Gavin Smith raised it up from early position and was called by a player in the next seat and the BB to see a flop came {A-Spades} {K-Clubs} {10-Hearts}. Smith led for 350 and was only called by his neighbor before the turn was revealed as {5-Hearts}. Smith led for 925 this time, but was quickly raised all-in for another 2,275. Quick was the raise but slow was the decision to fold from Smith. It was a good five minute tank.

"Never Be Afraid to Go Broke on a Bluff, Boys"

Dave "Devilfish" Ulliott was just involved in a hand with an UTG and a BB player. The turn was already out, giving us a {7-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {K-Spades} {9-Spades} board. The BB led out for 225 and was called by both players before the river came {4-Diamonds}. The BB checked to see UTG bet 500 before being raised to 1,725 by Ulliott. BB folded and the UTG player folded {Q-?} {Q-?} face-up.

"Never be afraid to go broke on a bluff, boys," said Ulliott as he opened {8-Spades} {5-Spades} for a missed flush draw. "That way, you never have a bad beat story to tell!"

Discrimination?

An early bust out at the start of level two is Danish online cash maestro Morten "pokergirl" Erlandsen. He's been in Las Vegas for ten days but has only played side games, successfully, before today. And after this, it might be a while before we see him again.

Back-to-Back?

Yesterday's happy moment.
Yesterday's happy moment.
Making a surprisingly early start today is Roland DeWolfe. I say that as I thought he might still be out celebrating after his victory in Event 27 - $5,000 Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo 8-or-better. He must be looking at trying to reach records by winning back-to-back bracelets.

Two-Pie Good

The river was out, giving us a {A-?} {7-?} {8-?} {K-?} {2-?} board. Chips were in the middle and Shannon Elizabeth was sitting on the button and facing a bet. It was a bet she called, but nodded and mucked upon seeing the SB's {A-?} {8-?} for a flopped two-pair.

Interesting Tables

As always interesting table draws arise.

Joe Sebok has to deal with poker and all things shopping with Tiffany Michelle and Vicky Coren seated next to him.

One European flavor table has bracelet winner Alan Smurfit, EPT winner Michael Schultz, and French player Remy Bichel for company.

And all things American Pie at the table with Shannon Elizabeth, Jonathan Aguiar, and David Chicotsky battling it out.
