One Antonius Present

Maya Antonius
Maya Antonius
Spotted in the Miranda room is Maya Antonius, better half of Patrik. When asked where the latter was, Maya replied that Patrik has not been playing because his back is hurt and that he's waiting for the cash games at the Bellagio.

Does that make a difference anyone's WSOP Fantasy League Team?

I Don't Need Any More, Man

Online star Chris Moorman is one of the few 'name' faces so far spotted in the Brasilia room, the young pro has yet to have a big live score. Recently he's been getting a fair amount of stick from friends after his dad (Moorman2) won a large UK event for about £80,000. The saying being, "You might be top three in the world at tournaments, but you're only top two in your family."

Here, he's quite happy to be playing this tournament, the shallowness of the stack will apparently play to his strengths, he claimed.

No One Said it was Going to be Pretty

I've just seen a player crippled after setting an opponent all in on the turn with a board showing two queens and two clubs.

The player called and flipped over {K-Clubs} {5-Clubs} to the aggressor's {K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}. A third club fell on the river to complete the flush and give the lady a double-up.

Her opponent didn't seemed too impressed; but one person who did seem happy was Ivan Demidov's girlfriend, Liya Gerasimova, who's seat is in position over the lady in question.

Oops...

On table 282 in the Miranda room, they found one blue card in a deck and so the floor had to come and kill the hand and replace the cards. One player flips over (a now dead) A-K suited, not something you want to happen with the relative short starting stacks.

Not Worried About Them Flopping Sets...

Already we have had a cry of "Two seats open, table 208!"

This is Vanessa Rousso's table, although she was not involved in the action. Three players had got their whole stacks in preflop with {A-Spades} {A-Clubs}, {K-Spades} {K-Clubs} and {K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} respectively. The lady holding the aces looked upset at the {7-Spades} {4-Spades} {5-Spades} {9-Hearts} {Q-Spades} until she realized she had made the nut-flush over the top of the King-high flush.

Two players down, five thousand, nine hundred and ninety eight to go...

Everyman Event

Barry Greenstein
Barry Greenstein
This is an event for the everyman. It seems almost every man is here too so it's hard to spot notables right now.

Two players on tables next to each other happen to know each other quite well. It's father and son combo Barry Greenstein and Joe Sebok.

The former just took down an early pot after raising a limper. The limper called the raise but check-folded the flop to The Bear.

Slight Delay

With 3,000 players all waiting to sit down, it was never likely to start at exactly 12pm. We're just waiting to hear an announcement of "Shuffle up and deal!"
