Messed with the Wong Man

Danny Wong was first to act and raised it up before Lars Hougaard three-bet from the button. Wong called and then check raised Hougaard on a {6-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} flop. After due thought Hougaard called and then bet the {J-Spades} turn when Wong checked. The bet worked as Wong folded.

Nordberg's Lucky Double

Still the table shortie

The flop was out reading {4-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {6-Hearts} and Peter "Nordberg" Feldman's all in had just been called by Ryan Hughes with {A-Spades} {A-Hearts}. Feldman was way behind with {K-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds}.

The {6-Clubs} turn changed all that though and after the {J-Clubs} river came Feldman saw his small stack double to 82,000. Hughes on 136,000.

We caught the action on the turn with the board reading {A-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and a bet of Mark Teltscher amounting to 33,200.

Danny Wong sat in the tank for just over two minutes before making the call to see the {3-Spades} land on the river.

Teltscher took his turn this time, sitting in the tank for near on three minutes before announcing all in.

Wong double-fist-pump-snap-called and slammed down his {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for the nuts. Teltscher shook his head, flashed his {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} and threw them into the muck to walk away in 22nd place for a payout of $16,740.

No Chop For Lex

Lex Veldhuis in action
Lex Veldhuis in action
With action on Lex Veldhuis in the small blind, he open shoved into Amit Makhija who sat in the big blind with a fairly short stack.

Makhija slowly sweated his cards to find before announcing fold.

"Look my first one was good" stated Makhija as he flashed the {Q-Spades}.

Veldhuis joined in showing the {Q-Diamonds}. "Oh man" commented Makhija as he showed both cards to read {Q-Spades}{3-Spades}.

As Veldhuis raked in the pot he tabled both his cards too; {Q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} to see both players, along with tablemate Maxim Lykov burst into a state of laughter.

Jonathan Heath Eliminated in 24th Place ($16,740)

A huge pot just went down between the two chip leaders at this table. Fireworks started on the {10-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} flop between Jonathan Heath and Lex Veldhuis. Heath held {8-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} for a flopped flush and open-ended straight flush draw. Veldhuis held {A-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} for the nut flush draw.

The turn came {A-Hearts} before the river {5-Diamonds} sent the pot Veldhuis' way and eliminated Heath. Veldhuis has 620,000 chips now.

Hougaard Doubles

Lars Hougaard has managed to find a double through table chip leader Mark Teltscher.

Hougaard was in dominating shape holding {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts} to Teltscher's {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}, and with all the money going in preflop the board ran out {K-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} to see Hougaard double to 260,000 as Teltscher slipped to his starting stack.

Jeffrey Frerichs Eliminated in 25th Place ($16,740)

With the action folded round to the blinds, Jeffrey Frerichs and Jonathan Heath got into a raising war to see Frerichs all in for his tournament life.

Frerichs: {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}
Heath: {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

In a race situation to stay alive, the flop of {A-Spades}{J-Spades}{4-Spades} would be pretty much the best Frerichs could ask for.

When the {9-Hearts} dropped on the turn, all Frerichs would have to evade is any repeating card. However when the {9-Diamonds} peeled on the river he would exit the tournament in 25th place and collect $16,740 to aid the pain.
