Cantu Cannot Bluff His Opponent

In a big blind versus blind battle, Brandon Cantu check-raised his opponent to 8,500 on a flop of {A-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds}. The player than reraised to 18,800. Cantu asked for a count on his opponent's stack and got an approximate amount. He then moved all in and was met with a call after the slightest of hesitations from the player.

"God damnit!! F**k!! F**k!!" yelled Cantu as he smacked his fist on the felt in front of his chips. he then tabled nothing but king high with {K-Spades} {8-Spades}. His opponent held {J-Spades} {J-Clubs} for a flopped set.

The turn brought the {Q-Hearts} before Cantu pleaded, "Ten! Ten!" It wouldn't come though when the {A-Hearts} hit the river to give his opponent a full house.

The total amount owed was 49,100 owed to his opponent and Cantu shipped it on over as he sat completely upset with the hand. He was left with just 10,000 chips.

Tarver on the Ropes

It's not looking good for former middle heavyweight boxing champion Antonio "the Magic Man" Tarver. He isn't down for the count just yet, but with only 2,200 chips left in his stack it could just be a matter of time. Tarver has been sandwiched between Scotty Nguyen and Lee Watkinson for most of the day and hasn't been able to get anything going.

So Long, Sugar

Sugar Bear
Sugar Bear
Al "Sugar Bear" Barbieri had a tough time getting anything going today, never getting above his starting stack as far as we could tell. Looking over at his chair now, we find a player who is not Al Barbieri occupying his former spot. Table mate Blair Rodman confirms that the Sugar Bear has gone busto.

Junglen Takes Another; Table Breaks

Adam Junglen
Adam Junglen
We walked past Adam Junglen's table just in time to see him bet 1,800 on a flop of {3-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{K-Clubs}. He got one call and went heads up to the turn after Di "urindanger" Dang mucked his hand.

Junglen check-called for 3,025 when the turn brought the {4-Spades} and both players checked the river, which brought the {7-Spades}. Junglen turned over {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} for top pair and his opponent shook his head.

"I thought I had the straight," he said before mucking. When the hand finished, the floor handed out chip racks to the players and broke the table.

Le Takes One from Hollink

Tuan Le opened the action with a raise to 850 from middle position and action folded all the way around to Rob Hollink in the big blind. Hollink made the call. The flop came down {A-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {3-Spades} and Hollink checked. Le fired out a bet of 2,300 and Hollink called.

The turn brought the {6-Clubs} and Hollink checked again. Le fired 3,400 this time and was able to get Hollink to release his hand.

Le - 47,000
Hollink - 43,000

Aces or Nothing

Eric Liu made it 800 to play and got called by both the button and the small blind before the big blind raised to 12,000.

"It's a big hand, obviously," he said as the table folded to him. "I know you all want to see," he added before tossing his cards in the muck with a smile.

Lieu Decides to Fight a Different Battle

Liz Lieu
Liz Lieu
There were roughly 12,000 chips in the pot when we passed by Liz Lieu's table. The Poker Diva had checked the turn of a {4-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {4-Hearts} board to her lone opponent. He made a bet of 8,200. Lieu considered the bet for about thirty seconds and then mucked her hand, preserving her count at 22,000.

Bartholdi Daydreaming

Table 151 is looking a little sleepy over there, and Joe Bartholdi tried to wake everyone up with a little story.

Apparently, Bartholdi had a dream about Phil Ivey, and he felt comfortable sharing this with the rest of the table. To make a short story shorter, Ivey was golfing (as he occasionally does), and he was having a rough day. Standing over his ball, Phil took two swings and fell to the ground. His stumble caused him to roll down a hill and plow into a tree. After that, Bartholdi and his friends got into a minivan and left.

"Isn't that a cool dream, guys?"

"....."

"Guys?"

Alfonso Cammarota Doubles

Alfonso Cammarota hasn't had much going for himself today. He's been sliding for most of the day, but things outside of poker are far more joyous than he could ask for. Just a couple of days ago, Cammarota's wife gave birth to a baby boy. His backpack is full of celebratory cigars and the expressions on his face have been nothing but smiles. He'd also like to say hello to his wife and kids back home on the East Coast and to tell them that he loves them.

Cammarota's chip stack dropped down to 18,000, but he just earned a double up to around 40,000 after he was all in holding two aces, {A-Diamonds} {A-Clubs}. His opponent held two tens. The board ran out {Q-Clubs} {9-Spades} {2-Spades} {8-Clubs} {9-Clubs} to keep Cammarota's aces in the lead.

Khan Loses a Pot

After some small preflop action, the flop came down {6-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {3-Diamonds}. Tuan Le checked and then the second player checked. Hevad Khan bet 3,000. Le got out of the way and then the other player called.

The turn brought the {Q-Diamonds} and action checked to Khan. He fired 8,000 and was met with a raise to over 25,000 after his opponent just tossed out a bunch of chips in one stack. Khan cocked his head to get a better look at his opponent and then mucked his hand. He still has over 80,000 chips though.
