Banks Four-Bet Shoves

The cutoff seat, Scott Cook, opened with a raise to 10,500. Clark Curry was in the small blind and reraised to 25,000. The big blind, Kirk Banks, then shoved all in. Cook folded first, followed by Curry. Banks showed pocket kings after being pushed the pot.

Banks is up to nearly 300,000 chips.

Knockouts Piling Up

Randy Crow was all in before the flop with {8-Hearts} {8-Spades}, up against the {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} of Kia Hamadani. The board ran out {10-Hearts} {J-Clubs} {6-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}, and Hamadani's ace-high flush was good enough for the knockout. He's up to 165,000 now, while Crow is headed for the exit.

*****

Simultaneously, there was a knockout in progress on the adjacent table. Denise Molloy (who hit a one-out ten for quads earlier in the day) was all in with {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}, and Jerry Maher was her would-be knocker-out with {K-Clubs} {K-Spades}. The dealer ran the board {4-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {4-Spades} {3-Spades}. With his kings turning into a full house, Maher has knocked off Molloy and moved to 195,000.

We're 22 players from the money now.

Wu Not Scared of Ivey

Bingjian Wu made it 10,500 to play from early position and got called by Richard Kane and Eugene Fouksman before Phil Ivey raised to 48,000 from the big blind.

Action moved back to Wu, who re-raised Ivey an additional 115,000, which was enough to push everyone out of the pot.

McLaughlin Caps Capello

Poor Joe Capello. With fewer than 40 eliminations remaining to the money, Capello got his short stack in the middle with {A-Clubs} {J-Hearts}. Big-stacked Marc McLaughlin called with {5-Diamonds} {5-Clubs}. Each player connected on the {2-Diamonds} {A-Spades} {5-Hearts}, with McLaughlin's set of fives retaining the lead in the hand. The turn and river came two more deuces, {2-Spades} and {2-Clubs}, to make each player a full house. McLaughlin's fives full of deuces was better than Capello's deuces full of aces.

Capello no longer has any chips or a chair. He's out.

Myung Takes One

With the pot sitting at approximately 100,000, two players checked over to John Myung on the turn. The board read {10-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds}. Myung bet out three tall towers of yellow T1,000 chips, totaling 60,000. He had 80,000 behind. The first player tanked and then mucked after over a minute of thought. The next player also tanked and another minute later mucked as well. Myung boosted his stack to nearly 250,000 with that pot.

Kings No Good For Beasley

Mike Beasley raised to 10,500 from the button and the play folded to Raul Mastre in the big blind who moved all in. Beasley made the call for the last of his chips.

Mastre: {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Beasley: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

Beasley held the best hand but the board went against him when it fell {A-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades} as Mastre spiked an ace to leave Beasley disappointed and chip-less.

Not Lunkin So Good

Vitaly Lunkin is down to 130,000 after doubling up Robert Allen with {A-Spades} {K-Spades} against {10-Spades} {10-Clubs}. The {3-Clubs} {4-Spades} {2-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {2-Spades} was no good for the Russian and he'll have an anxious time trying to get into the money.
