2,000,000-Chip Flip

Bradley Craig started this laugher of a hand with an early-position raise to 51,000. Around in late position, Jake Abdallah three-bet it up to 165,000. When it came back on Craig, he moved all in for 1,020,000, and Abdalla made the call for his own tournament life.

Showdown
Craig: {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades}
Abdalla: {A-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}

That's right, nearly 2,000,000 chips up for grabs pre-flop as both men tabled ace-queen. The board ran out blanks, and the two men took their own money back plus an extra couple thousand.

Soulier on Fire!

Fabrice Soulier is catching cards like it's his job. Even better for Soulier is the fact that his hands are holding up. Soulier check-called a bet of 200,000 from Alex Gurevich on a flop of {5-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}. Both players checked the {2-Spades} turn, leading Soulier to fire for 300,000 on the {3-Diamonds} river. Gurevich may have thought he was catching a bluff when he called with {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}, but Soulier turned over {K-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} to drag the pot.

That's What You Call a Poker Decision

Three players saw a {4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop, Rifat Palevic bet 175,000, and only Tian Shou called. The turn was the {8-Spades}, and Palevic promptly shoved all in for about 800,000, sending Shou into the tank.

"I need Poker Stove," exhaled Shou wearily. "I have a massive, massive hand, but I fold."

Shou showed the {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} he was folding -- eights and a diamond draw. Then Palevic turned over his cards somewhat emphatically -- {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}!

Palevic is up to 2.35 million, while Shou slips to 2.47 million.

ElkY Goes the Way of the Dodo

Elky Grospellier
Elky Grospellier
A very short-stacked Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier never fully recovered from that three-way pot where Scott Cook "just couldn't do it". He got his last chips in preflop with the same hand he held in the three-way pot, {A-Spades} {K-Hearts}. This time Scott Sitron woke up with {K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}. Grospellier couldn't find an ace on a board of {3-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {2-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}. Neither could the dealer, so he pushed to the pot to Sitron, leaving Grospellier busto.

Nargentino Doubles Through Stoykov

Luis Nargentino was just now all in for his tournament life before the flop with {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} and was racing with Mihail Stoykov who held {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}.

The flop came {Q-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{5-Spades}, and Stoykov's nines were still good. But the turn brought the {A-Diamonds}, and Nargentino was now in the lead.

The river brought the {7-Hearts}, and Nargentino is now at 1.38 million. Stoykov has 230,000.

Tran and Eastgate Being Careful

J.C. Tran was on the button, and he limped in after the action folded around the table. Joe Hachem completed the small blind, and Peter Eastgate made it 80,000 straight from the big blind. Tran called while Hachem ducked out.

Heads up then, the flop came {6-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}, and Eastgate check-called a bet of 65,000 from Tran. The turn was the {J-Clubs} and the river the {5-Diamonds}, with the two players check-checking it down. Eastgate tabled {9-Clubs} {9-Spades}, and it was good enough to earn him that little pot.

Schneider Has Kicker Trouble

There was 270,000 in the middle when the flop came {K-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Tom Schneider, in the big blind, fired out 160,000, and Antoine Saout raised to 525,000 from the button. Schneider called.

Both players then checked the {5-Hearts} turn and the {2-Clubs} river. Schneider showed {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades} for top pair, but was out-kicked by Saout's {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}.

Saout is up to 3.815 million, while Schneider slips to 3.02 million.

Double Elimination of Both Cloutier and Luht

Some crazy action just went down over on one of the tables between Joe Luht, Eric Cloutier, and Wesley Ismay.

The flop was {10-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {2-Clubs} when all the money went in. Luht held top pair with {A-?} {10-?}, but was way behind both of his opponents with flopped flushes. Cloutier flopped a flush with {J-Clubs} {8-Clubs}, but Ismay flopped the higher flush with {K-Clubs} {9-Clubs}.

The turn brought the {6-Spades} and the river the {10-Hearts}. Ismay's flush was good enough to win the hand and eliminate both Cloutier and Luht.

Noah Knows

On a flop of {A-Spades} {9-Diamonds} {A-Hearts}, the action was checked to Noah Boeken, who fired out 100,000. Pham raised to 575,000, a middle position player got out of the way, and Boeken called. The {5-Hearts} came on the turn and Pham moved all in for 1.6 million. Boeken went into a long tank.

"I know you have two nines. I should have folded on the flop," Boeken bemoaned.

After a few more minutes of thought, Boeken showed {A-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} and folded. Pham showed the {9-Clubs}... then the {9-Hearts}.

Boeken is down to 1.68 million while Pham is up to 2.8 million.
