Lyle Defeats Lee

Lyle Berman raised to 1,700 from the hijack, and Loi Phan called from the cutoff. Then in the big blind, Bernard Lee moved al in for another 1,800. Both opponents called. Running over to just miss his big blind, Tom Dwan moved all in from the small blind the hand and flashed his {Q-}{9-}{7-}{4-}{3-} to take down the big blind and antes.

"Return to your other tournament Dwan" commented the big blind Nicholas Brancato as the dealer began dealing out the next hand.

"I got 18 minutes" Dwan added before the action folded back round to him on the button and he pushed his last 6,525 into the pot.

Thomas Ricketts made the call from the big blind and stood pat as Dwan drew two - flashing his discarded {5-} and {3-} - with his {5-}{4-}{3-}.

Ricketts tabled his {Q-}{9-}{7-}{6-}{5-} to give Dwan a good sweat to stay alive.

Finding the {9-} on his first drawn card, Dwan would unfortunately pair up with the {4-} to see him eliminated from the tournament.

At least he can now focus on Event #11: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em where he is chip leader with fourteen remaining.

Seidel Doubles

Erik Seidel raised to the minimum from the hijack, and Josh Arieh, who was next to act, called. Then from the small blind, Sean Snyder raised to 7,000. Seidel promptly moved all in for 22,450 total. That was enough to squeeze Arieh out of the hand, and Snyder called. Both players stood pat. Snyder's jack was way behind Seidel's {8-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-}, and Seidel doubled to 50,000. Snyder, who had been on a rush since the day began, was knocked back to 34,000.

Don't worry JC . . . you got it!

John Monnette opened to 1,700 and JC Tran three-bet to 5,000. Monnette made the call and both players drew one.

Monnette open-shoved for his last 3,125 and Tran made the call tabling his {8-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-} to prompt a muck from Monnette as he made his way to the rail while Tran climbed to 36,000 in chips.

Rassi Draws To Doubles

Nick Binger opened to 1,800 from the hijack and found a caller in Josh Arieh before Steve Rassi moved all in for 11,475.

Binger folded, but Arieh made the call and stood pat as Rassi drew one.

Arieh held a {10-}{9-}{6-}{5-}{2-} and was up against Rassi's {8-}{6-}{4-}{2-}.

Unfortunately for Arieh, Rassi managed to find the {10-} to improve his hand and ensure himself a double to over 24,000 as Arieh slips to 23,000 in chips.

Paging Thomas Roupe

Tom Dwan has been running back-and-forth between tournaments and made a few brief appearances over here. His last visit was enough to nearly double his stack, though he's blinded back down to 7,125. Thomas Roupe, on the other hand, still hasn't appeared. He began the day with 19,100 in chips, but he's only got 9,500 of them left.

Erick Lindgren opened to 2,000 from the hijack only to have Mike Leah bump it to 4,850 from the cutoff.

Lindgren committed his last 8,800 and Leah made the call.

Lindgren stood pat with his {10-}{9-}{7-}{3-}{2-} and Leah drew one with his {8-}{6-}{4-}{3-}.

Unfortunately for Lindgren, Leah would catch the {5-} to improve to an eight-six low to move to 40,000 while busting Lindgren.

"Ten What?"

Chino Rheem raised to 1,700 from the cutoff, and Peter Gelencser called from the small blind. Chino stood pat while Peter took one card.

Both checked, and Chino said "Ten."

Gelencser asked, "Ten what?"

"Nine."

"Nine what?"

"Eight."

Gelencser turned over {10-}{9-}{7-}{5-}{3-} to win the pot. He's up to 50,000, and Chino still has 75,000.

Trip Aces For Dario

Sigi Stockinger opened to 1,800 from the cutoff and Dario Minieri three-bet to 5,850 from the small blind. Stockinger made the call and both players stood pat.

Minieri took his time before moving all in for just under 9,000 to put Stockinger to a decision.

Eventually that decision was a fold, and as Minieri was pushed the pot he tabled an {A-Spades} then a {A-Hearts} then a {A-Diamonds} and then a {10-Clubs} and {4-Spades} for trip aces.

As Minieri climbed to 22,000, Stockinger stated to the table that he folded a ten-eight as he slipped to 9,500 in chips.
