Gilmartin Gone

Lynn Gilmartin
Lynn Gilmartin

PokerNews' own Lynn Gilmartin has just been sent to the rail. A player in middle position made it 700 to go and Gilmartin went all in for 2,300 on the button. Her opponent called and tabled {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}, leading Gilmartin's {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}.

The board ran out {A-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}, ending Gilmartin's tournament.

About Those Big Hands for Liebert...

Kathy Leibert
Kathy Leibert

Moments after reporting that Kathy Liebert had built her stack back up to over 6,000, we returned to see her nursing just 800 in chips. We don't know what happened, but Liebert was in a desperate position and moved all in under the gun and was called by a player in middle position.

Liebert: {9-Spades}{10-Spades}
Opponent: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}

Liebert was behind from the start and couldn't have liked the {7-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop. By the time the {q-Clubs} came on the turn she was drawing dead. The dealer laid out the {5-Spades} on the river and that was it for Liebert as one of the best players in today's field was sent home.

Big Hands For Liebert

Kathy Liebert raised to 600 in middle position and her opponent in the hijack went all in for 1,500 total. Action folded around to Liebert and she made the call with {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}. She was well ahead of her opponent's {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and her jacks held up through the {6-Clubs}{4-Spades}{A-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{7-Spades} board.

The next hand, Liebert again opened the pot with a raise to 600. She was faced with a raise on her immediate left to 1,700 and Liebert called when the action folded around. The flop came down {9-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Liebert checked. Her opponent bet 3,000 and Liebert went all in for just a little bit more, getting quickly called.

Liebert showed {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts} and her opponent flipped over {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}. Chop it up ladies!

Kathy Liebert: 6,100

Peppe Le Bust

Nichoel Peppe raised to 425 on the button and got a call from a player in the big blind.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and the big blind checked to Peppe, who shoved all her chips into the middle. Peppe might not have wanted a call, but she got one.

Peppe: {5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
Opponent: {k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

Peppe certainly wasn't drawing dead, but she did need some help if she was to survive. The turn came {4-Spades}, which was no help, and the {a-Diamonds} on the river sealed the deal.

Mandy Baker Falls to Dragon Lady

Mandy Baker shoved on the button preflop for 1,700 only to have a woman who calls herself the Dragon Lady re-shove. The big blind got out of the way and let these two duke it out.

Baker: {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Dragon Lady: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}

Baker provided a little sweat when the flop came {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{10-Clubs} but was unable to complete the suckout when the turn came {5-Spades} followed by a {4-} on the river.

Mandy Baker is out, and the Dragon Lady has a few more chips.

Kings Hold for Gilbard

Alexis Gilbard got involved in a hand right before the break when she raised to 350 in middle position, getting a call from the player in the big blind.

The flop came {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and both players checked. On the {9-Hearts} turn, Gilbard called a bet of 350 from her opponent. The river was the {10-Hearts} and once again, both players checked.

Gilbard turned over {k-}{k-} which was good enough to make her opponent muck.

Deeb Doubles

Another standing ovation from the field will have to wait since Shaun Deeb just doubled up. He raised to 300 in the hijack and the player in the small blind made the call.

The flop came down {Q-}{J-}{8-} and all the chips went into the middle. Deeb's {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} was leading his opponent's {Q-Clubs}{10-Spades}. The {6-Diamonds} turn card and {5-Hearts} river card were safe for Deeb and he is up to 3,700.
