100 Women Remain

There are 100 players left, and with the recent elimination of Bryce Daifuku -- a.k.a. the last man standing -- we needn't employ gender-neutral pronouns anymore when referring to the field.

Daifuku was just now all in for 9,100 from the button, and Lisa Adams called from the small blind. Daifuku had {A-Clubs}{6-Spades} and Adams {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}.

The flop came {K-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}, and Daifuku's hand was still best. Nor did the {8-Clubs} turn change things. But the {J-Hearts} on the river paired Adams, and Daifuku is out. Adams now has 28,000.

There was cheer afterwards, and a bit of laughter after the announcer offered a postscript to Daifuku's bustout:

"Congratulations, ma'am."
