Duke Dusted

Annie Duke before elimination
Annie Duke before elimination

Tad Jurgens opened to 2,000 only to have Annie Duke three-bet to 3,000 from the button.

Jurgens four-bet to 4,000 and Duke committed her last 4,500 with Jurgens making the call.

Jurgens: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Duke: {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs}

The board ran out a rather undramatic {8-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} to put Duke on the rail and Jurgens up to 11,000 in chips.

Will The Real David Baker Please Stand Up!

The David Baker we're covering!
The David Baker we're covering!

"Tell him! He'll change it" stated JC Tran in the direction of one of our PokerNews Reporters.

Tran was referencing the fact that David Baker was being congratulated for winning the $10,000 2-7 Draw Lowball Championship bracelet last night, when in fact it was the other David Baker.

"You can just call me the OG" stated the Event #23 Baker.

"You should be David Baker and he should be David Bakes" added Tran.

Just for the record, the David Baker in our tournament is the one hailing from Katy, Texas who did not win last night's Event #19: $10,000 2-7 Draw Lowball Championship!

Bonomo Busts Bloch

Justin Bonomo raised from the button, and both blinds -- Jerid Zewin and Andy Bloch -- called to see a flop. Bloch was getting short, as you'll soon find out.

The dealer ran out {Q-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {10-Spades} for the first three cards, and the blinds checked to the raiser. Bonomo bet, Zewin called, and Bloch raised all in for 2,000 total. Bonomo three-bet to 3,000, and Zewin cold-called the extra two small bets.

That brought them to the turn {3-Diamonds}, and Zewin check-called another bet. On the {10-Diamonds} river, Zewin finally surrendered to one final bet, and Bonomo tabled {Q-Spades} {10-Hearts} for the full house. Bloch was still all in, and he flipped over his rivered {K-Spades} {9-Hearts}, a flopped straight no match for Bonomo's boat.

Bloch is out, and Bonomo claws back to 52,000.

Aggressive Abrahams Wins On River

Facing a raise to 2,000 from the cutoff, Javed Abrahams three-bet to 3,000 from the button with both JC Tran calling out of the small blind as well as the original raiser.

Abrahams 1,000-chip bet was check-called by both players on the {K-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop before the {10-Diamonds} landed on the turn and Tran was the only player to come along for another 2,000 from Abrahams.

The river landed the {9-Hearts} and Tran checked to Abrahams who fired out 2,000. Tran hesitated for a few moments before releasing his hand as he slipped to 51,000, while Abrahams climbed to 48,000 in chips.

Gordon Gaining Momentum

Phil Gordon raised from the button, and Brian Goddard called from the small blind.

The flop brought {10-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} and a check from Goddard, and he called a Gordon bet. Goddard checked again on the {10-Hearts} river, but he raised Gordon's bet, both players putting two big bets into the pot there. The {5-Clubs} rivered, and the action check-checked.

Goddard tabled his airball {Q-Hearts} {J-Hearts}, and Gordon's {A-Spades} {5-Diamonds} meant three pair and the pot to Gordon. He's up to about 70,000 now, while Goddard has taken a step back to about 21,000.

Parmann With a Pair

We joined this pot just as the dealer was putting a flop of {10-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {6-Hearts} on board. Big blind Julian Parmann made a bet, Justin Bonomo raised, and Parmann called the extra small bet.

Fourth street came the {Q-Clubs}, and Parmann check-called a bet from Bonomo. He did the same when the {6-Diamonds} hit the river, and it was showdown time.

Parmann tabled {10-Hearts} {8-Clubs}, and that was better than Bonomo's {K-Hearts} {9-Hearts} miss. End of hand.

Bonomo - 63,000
Parmann - 68,000

Newhouse Straightened Out

On a flop of {10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} Chuck Danielsson fired out 800 only to be check-raised by Mark Newhouse to 1,600.

Danielsson made the call before calling a 1,600-chip bet when the {5-Diamonds} landed on the turn.

The river fell the {9-Diamonds} and Newhouse fired out yet again for 1,600 only to have Danielsson two-bet to 3,200.

After deliberating for nearly thirty seconds, Newhouse made the call, only to muck at the sight of Danielsson's {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}.

As Danielsson climbs to 29,000, Newhouse sits with just 2,800 in chips.

Hawrilenko Running on Fumes

Matt Hawrilenko raised from the cutoff seat, and both Tad Jurgens (small blind) and Alexander Borteh (big blind) came along with him to the flop.

It brought {Q-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} and checks from the blinds, and only Jurgens called Hawrilenko's continuation bet this time. That brought the two of them heads up to the {6-Hearts} turn. Jurgens led out with a bet now, and Hawrilenko called. That action was the same on the {9-Spades} river, and Jurgens flipped up {Q-Clubs} {7-Hearts} for top pair.

Hawrilenko mucked his cards back to the dealer, dropping down to just 3,600 in the process.
