Wong Knocked Back Down

Action folded around to Steve Wong in middle position and he limped in. Derek Raymond was in the cutoff seat and raised. The player in the small blind reraised. The big blind folded before action got back to Wong. He made the call and then Raymond called as well.

The three players took a flop of {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and the small blind fired a bet. Both Wong and Raymond made the call.

The turn was the {J-Diamonds} and the small blind bet. Wong called, but Raymond folded. He was left with 42,000 chips. The river capped off the community cards with the {10-Hearts}. The small blind and Wong checked.

The small blind tabled the {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{K-Hearts}{4-Spades} for aces and jacks with a king kicker and Wong mucked. Wong dropped back to 45,000 chips.

Mo' Chips for Mosseri

Abe Mosseri is looking to chip up as we approach the end of the day. He was in a three-way pot with Shannon Shorr and another player. Mosseri had position on both opponents and bet after they checked. Shorr folded but the third player called to the {5-Hearts} turn. Mosseri fired a second bet there and a third bet on the {8-Clubs} river. He was called both times and showed down {a-Clubs} {j-Clubs} {3-Spades} {4-Spades} for a wheel. His opponent held {a-Spades} {3-Hearts} {5-Spades} {7-Hearts}, a hand not good enough for any portion of the pot.

Mosseri is up to 42,000.

Evdakov Stays Alive

Nikolay Edvakov

David Steicke raised from middle position and then Tommy Vedes called from the hijack seat. Nikolay Evdakov called from the big blind as well. On the flop of {7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, Evdakov checked to Steicke. He bet out, Vedes called and then Evdakov called as well.

The turn was the {K-Spades} and Evdakov checked. Steicke bet and Vedes folded, but Evdakov called and was all in for his last 300. He held the {9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Spades} while Steicke held the {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}.

The river was the {10-Spades} and completed the flush for Evdakov to keep him alive in the tournament.

Goodbye, World

A severly short-stacked John Hennigan was all in for his last 300 chips. Lyle Berman raised pre-flop, passing the action to Eli Elezra.

"Lyle wants to protect you," Elezra said to Hennigan. "I will re-protect you." He three-bet and Berman called. Berman check-called one bet on a flop of {7-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {10-Hearts}. Both players checked when the board paired on the turn, {10-Diamonds}. Berman checked a third time on the river {2-Hearts}, prompting Elezra to bet. Berman called and found himself quartered. He and Elezra had the same pair of sevens for high, but Elezra's low with {a-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {8-Hearts} was better than Berman's with {a-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {7-Spades}. Hennigan's {a-Spades} {4-Clubs} {q-Diamonds} {j-Diamonds} got nothing from the main pot.

"Maybe if I had a straight third..." Hennigan said to John Juanda before departing.

Hennigan Crippled, Then Busts

John Hennigan raised from early position and Eli Elezra called from the big blind. The flop came down {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Elezra bet out. Hennigan called. After the {2-Clubs} hit the felt on the turn, Elezra bet and Hennigan called again. The river completed the board with the {3-Diamonds} and Elezra bet with Hennigan making another call.

Elezra tabled the {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for a club flush and the nut low. Hennigan mucked, having only 300 chips left. Elezra moved up to 68,000.

"Pretty good hand, Mr. Elezra," commented John Juanda.

Koral with a Blocker

Tom Koral
Tom Koral

On the flop of {Q-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Spades}, Phil Ivey, Tom Koral and Jared Bleznick put in three bets apiece before the {3-Diamonds} fell on the turn. Ivey checked and Koral bet. Bleznick folded after double checking his cards and then Ivey tossed his hand in as well. Koral showed the {A-Spades} only and announced that he had a "blocker". He's now up to 61,000 in chips.
