Hitting the Phan

Tom Phan raised it up to 1,600 in early position and was faced with a reraise to 4,800 from another player a seat or two down the line. In mid position, Zvi Groysman called, and once it had folded back to him, Phan called too.

All three players checked the {3-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop and they duly proceeded to the {6-Diamonds} turn. Phan now bet out 7,000, and although one player folded, Groysman made the call.

The river was the {5-Diamonds} and Phan moved in for around 18,000. Groysman called and promptly tabled {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. Whatever Phan was holding, we didn't get to see it. "You got me," was all he said as he mucked and headed to collect his modest winnings.

Groysman meanwhile is at 88,000.
