Potter Doubles Through Lisandro

Jeff Lisandro
Jeff Lisandro

Razz

Jeff Lisandro completed before Jason Potter raised it up. Lisandro re-raised and Potter called. Potter then led the betting on fourth and fifth, before being all in on sixth street. Lisandro made the call.

Lisandro: ({A-}{6-}) / {3-}{8-}{K-}{4-} / (X)
Potter: ({7-}{3-}) / {4-}{2-}{5-}{8-} / ({A-})

Lisandro needed to improve on the river but once Potter revealed an ace, he'd made an unbeatable wheel. Potter doubles as Lisandro slips to 14,000.

Try To Get A Word In On This Table

If there was ever a table made for TV, this might just be it.

With a recent table break we now see the fast talking Sam Grizzle, the "Poker Brat" himself Phil Hellmuth and the one and only "Mouth" Mike Matusow, all seated at the same table!

We know who is doing all the listening at that table, and we kind of feel sorry for John Juanda. We hope he brought his headphones.

There's Something In The Air Tonight

As we reported earlier today, there's seems to be a lot of angst in the room today. Before the break there was another altercation, this time between a player and a dealer. We didn't really have a lot of dealers and we didn't know the player involved, but the commotion was enough to stop the room for a moment due to the yelling and the player involved did cop a one-orbit penalty.

Now, following the dinner break, there was another argument, which must be about the fifth one we've spotted today. The two players exchanged words and it got to the point where one stood and removed his jacket to get ready to tango. Thankfully, it settled down and play continued on.

We can only suspect that these random acts of violence are when the table moves around to Razz.

Bach and Lindgren Gone

We've lost David Bach from the tournament. He recalled to us that despite having a straight-flush wheel draw in Stud-8, his hand bricked out into three pair as Joe Serock made aces full.

Also more recently, Erick Lindgren was eliminated at the hand Tommy Vedes during a hand of Razz.

Mueller and Hellmuth Tangle

Stud

Greg "FBT" Mueller completed before Phil Hellmuth put in the raise. Mueller called, and then check-called Hellmuth on fourth, fifth and sixth streets, before both players checked down the river.

Mueller: ({A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}-X) / {K-Spades}{4-Hearts}{A-Spades}{6-Diamonds}
Hellmuth: (X-X-X) / {8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

Following the hand it was only natural that two of the world's best trash talkers got into a bit of verbal warfare that included some of the following quotes:

"Can you beat aces?"
"What did you think I was raising you with?"
"I was going to outplay you..."
"I could represent spades..."
"Buddy...if you think you can outplay me...."

etc. etc.

The Professor's Story Is Convincing Enough

Razz

Howard Lederer called the completion of his opponent, and called again on fourth street, before raising it up on fifth. His opponent again led on sixth and Lederer made the call. On the river, it was checked to Lederer who made a bet with a rather raggedy board but it was convincing enough to force a fold from his opponent.

Lederer: (X-X) / {3-}{J-}{A-}{Q-} / (X)
Opponent: (X-X) / {6-}{8-}{10-}{9-} / (X)

Lederer moves up to 8,000 chips.

Recent Eliminations

Just prior to the dinner break we lost Barry Greenstein and Allen Kessler, while Linda Johnson, John D'Agostino and Jerry Buss are also missing, assumed busto.

Play Resumes

We're back after the break with four more levels to play today. Now that the limits are starting to kick up we can expect to see some more action around the tables as the short stacks start to feel the pressure.
