820 players took to the field today for Event #4 - $1,500 Omaha Hi/Lo. They chopped, they scooped, they seemed to enjoy themselves, for the most part. By the end of the night, the board read 297 players left, but that number will surely decline overnight.

Such a large field drew out a large number of notable players. Tom Dwan arrived late and departed early, one of the early waves of players to bust. Soon to follow were the likes of Justin Bonomo, Matt Savage, George Danzer and Daniel Negreanu.

There were some well-known players who accumulated stacks, however. Amnon Filippi looked to bag "low 30s" in chips, and David Bach amassed 39,000. They were all topped by the mystery man known right now only as "Oleg". Our last approximation of his stack was in the range of 70,000.

Tonight eerythong will go home and hopefully get some sleep. They'll return at 3pm tomorrow to play another ten levels of this event. We'll be there too.

Until then, you can find us at the bar.

Maria Sent Home

Maria Ho was all in on an {a-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts} board with {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. She'd need to hit her flush in order to chop the pot with her opponent, who'd flopped a wheel with {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. But the {2-Clubs} on the turn and {10-Spades} on the river where not the color she was looking for, sending her to the rail just before the end of the night.

Mortensen Fighting Back

Everyone folded to Carlos Mortensen in the small blind. He limped and the big blind let him see a flop for the minimum. It came {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, and both players checked to a free {9-Clubs}. Enough with the cheap poker already. Mortensen made the 1,000-chip big bet, and the big blind called. But it was back to check, check after the {6-Diamonds} on the river. Mortensen rolled over {9-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts} and took the 3,000-chip pot with two pair. He's still short but up to 4,300 now.

Last Level

We've reached the last level of the night. One more hour until the chip bags are out. We're trying to figure out who the chip leader is at the moment, but with more than 300 players still in it's not an easy task.

Recent Eliminations

Tables are starting to break down in the back of the Blue section, which means people are continuing to bust. Bill Chen, Pat Pezzin, Matt Savage, Tony G and Jason Mercier were all recently sent to the rail.

Mercier's elimination came with an extra sting, as he had a last-longer bet with Dario Minieri. Mercier raised the cutoff and was called in two spots. Mercier continued his story with a bet on the {k-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} flop that both opponents called. Mercier was all in on the {9-Diamonds} turn and was called again. The river fell {A-Hearts}. Mercier's opponent turned up {a-Spades} {7-Hearts} {2-Hearts} {6-Spades} for aces up. It was enough to win.
