Event #45: $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em

Day 2 Completed

Day 2 Concludes

Sam Trickett
Sam Trickett

As expected, Day 2 was a turbulent day which saw stacks fluctuate at an immeasurable pace, even the chip lead continually changing hands. As the final whistle blew, however, it was Sam Trickett who stood tallest, his stack of 922,000 sending him into the final day with the chip lead and the opportunity to become the UK's sixth bracelet winner.

But snapping at his heels like an alligator with toothache will be an array of tough competitors, the likes of Larry Wilder (916,000), Stephen Chidwick (783,000) and Kevin Odell (768,000) all eying up that shiny, gold bracelet. And not too far behind them is recent bracelet winner Dutch Boyd, the former 'Crew' member in great shape with 619,000.

But with 36 Trojans still remaining, the battle will be tough, and the journey long as we look to whittle the remaining field down to one triumphant solider. If you want to find out who takes the spoils, then make sure you join us tomorrow for what should be a fast-paced day of poker fun and frolics.

Wilder Wins Biggest Pot of Tourney

Jesse Rockowitz opened the action from the hijack seat and Larry Wilder re-raised from the big blind to around 80,000. When asked to pull the bets in, the dealer couldn't quite do it and both Josh "brikdog24" Brikis and Tim "tmay420" West tried to help her. She wouldn't listen. Finally, after the floor was called, the bet was pulled in correctly and Rockowitz made the call.

The flop fell {7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and Wilder almost instantly moved all in for 430,000. Rockowitz snapped it off.

Showdown
Wilder: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Rockowitz: {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

Rockowitz looked sick to his stomach. Over one million chips were on the line as the dealer delivered a brick on the turn; the {3-Diamonds}.

The {4-Spades} on the river hit Rockowitz where it hurt though, and Wilder doubled to 1,020,000 chips.

Rockowitz is still healthy with 430,000 chips, but was a fade away from 1,500,000.

Trickett Back on Top

Francois Safieddine opened the pot from early position and Samuel Tickett moved all in on the button. The blinds released, and Safieddine made the call.

Showdown
Safieddine: {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Trickett: {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Trickett held when the board ran {9-Spades}{6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{a-Hearts}, eliminating Safieddine from the tournament. Trickett's our chip leader again with 835,000 to his name.

Jakobsson Receives Courtesy Double

Sean Hodge opened to 30,000 on the button and Johan Jakobsson moved all in for over 200,000. Hodge opted to make the call.

Showdown
Hodge: {q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Jakobsson: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}

The {k-Hearts}{3-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop was very good for Jakobsson, but the {6-Clubs} on the turn kept Hodge alive with a gutshot straight draw. The {a-Spades} on the river was no help however, and Jakobsson doubled to 460,000 chips.

Hodge's mistake has him crippled to 90,000 chips.

Chop It Up

Sam Trickett and Peter Dawson reached a flop of {4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} where Dawson led for 40,000 into a pot of 65,000. Trickett called.

The turn came a {4-Spades} and both players checked.

On the {6-Clubs} turn, Dawson checked and Trickett announced all-in for around 450,000. With 292,000 behind, Dawson made the call.

"Ace high," declared Trickett showing {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}; "Me too," replied Dawson with {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}.

Trickett remains on 525,000.
