Greenstein Out

Barry Greenstein has been eliminated
Barry Greenstein has been eliminated

Barry Greenstein has just been eliminated. He was all in preflop for his last bit of chips with the {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}. He was up against the {J-Hearts}{6-Clubs} for Alexander Gruibem. Greenstein was in the small blind and Gruibem in the big blind.

The board ran out {8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and that was the end of the line for Greenstein. Gruibem moved up to 365,000 in chips.

Frank Kassela Cripples Barry Greenstein, Wins 1.1 Million Pot

POY, baby!
POY, baby!

Barry Greenstein was just crippled by Frank Kassela in what is so far, the largest pot of the tournament.

Kassela opened for 25,000 from the button. Greenstein raised to 60,000 from the big blind and Kassela called.

The flop came down {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. Greenstein bet 85,000, Kassela moved all-in for 498,000 and Greenstein called.

Kassela {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Greenstein {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}

Kassela was looking for a diamond to make the nut flush and snap off Greenstein's aces. The turn card didn't do it, the {Q-Spades} falling, but the {6-Diamonds} hit the river and Kassela jumped back in his seat like he'd just been electrocuted. He raked in the 1,145,000 pot, leaving Greenstein with only 42,000.

Scott Seiver Eliminated

Scott Seiver opened for 20,000 from under-the-gun and Carlos Mortensen called on the button.

The flop was {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. Seiver checked to Mortensen, who bet 50,000. Seiver raised all-in for 235,000 and Mortensen made the call.

Seiver {2-Spades}{2-Hearts}
Mortensen {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}

The turn and river fell the {J-Diamonds} and the {10-Diamonds}, sending Seiver to the rail. Mortensen is up to 800,000.

Somerville Gets It In Drawing Nearly Dead

Brian Hodhod opened for 22,000 in the hijack, Jason Somerville three-bet to 70,000 from the small blind and Hodhod made the call.

The flop was {8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}. Somerville led out for 120,000, and Hodhod moved all-in for 312,000.

"It would suck if you have aces. I don't have many outs against that. I do have a backdoor flush draw," Somerville said. He made the call.

The situation was even worse than he expected. Hodhod tabled {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} for the nut boat and Somerville showed {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}.

"I have even less outs against pocket eights," Somerville said.

Less outs indeed-- Somerville's only hope were running deuces to give him quads with an ace kicker or running aces or kings to make him a bigger boat.

The {J-Diamonds} on the turn, however, left him drawing dead. The river was the {K-Clubs} and Hodhod increased his stack to 770,000 while onetime chip giant Somerville saw his stack reduced to only 170,000.
