Big Flop

Cary Katz just doubled through Steve Gross over at Table 1 after a monster big flop for both players.

The hand was over when we arrived, but we were quick enough to see that Katz held {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs} and Gross {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. The flop had a queen and two hearts, but no heart came on either the turn or river.

Katz now sits with around 70,000 chips and Gross with 80,000.

Viva Pescatori

Max Pescatori had his opponent all-in for his last 18,000 chips preflop and the hands were opened:

Pescatori: {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Opponent: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}

The {7-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs} flop gave Pescatori a plethora of outs, but the {2-Spades} on the turn was neither of them. The {6-Hearts} on the river was one of them however and Pescatori recorded the KO and the victory.

Bax Be Gone

The heads up match between Christian "charder30" Harder and Cliff "JohnnyBax" Josephy didn't last very long.

Harder opened with the button and Josephy moved all-in for 27,000. Harder called and the hands were tabled:

Harder: {A-}{Q-}
Josephy: {A-}{9-}

The board ran {10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{q-Spades}{3-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and Josephy was eliminated.

Charder will return tomorrow as one of the thirty-six remaining runners.

Boeken Busto

Noah Boeken now on the rail
Noah Boeken now on the rail

Noah Boeken opened to 2,600 and Nicolas Levi bumped it to 6,000 from the big blind.

Boeken made the call to see a {J-Spades}{2-Clubs}{K-Clubs} flop fall and a bet of 5,500 follow from Levi. Boeken deliberated for a few moments before tossing in five orange 5,000-denomination chips amounting to a raise of 25,000.

Levi took his time mulling over a decision before announcing a call and flipping his hand believing that Boeken was all in when in reality still had a further 14,900 behind.

The dealer burned and turned the {5-Diamonds} on the turn and Levi tossed in three 5,000-denomination chips with Boeken sliding his remaining chips.

Levi: {J-Hearts}{6-Spades}
Boeken: {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

The river landed the {3-Diamonds} to see Boeken miss his flush draw and be sent to the rail as Levi progresses to the second round of play.

Charder Takes from Bax, Now Heads Up

Christian "charder30" Harder and Cliff "JohnnyBax" Josephy tangled in a sizable pot at Table 24 moments ago.

Harder opened to 2,700 from the button and Josephy called from the big blind.

The flop fell {2-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{J-Spades} and Josephy checked to Harder who bet 4,800. Josephy thought before check-raising to 10,500 and Harder made the call.

The turn brought the {K-Diamonds} and again Josephy checked. Harder bet again, this time 14,300. Josephy wasn't happy and tanked for quite some time before lifting his cards to show the rail and throwing them in the muck.

Harder eliminated Casey Jarzabek soon after, and Harder (111,000 chips) and Josephy (39,000 chips) are now heads up.
