Three Pair

We're down to three heads-up matches. This is how things stand between the pairs.

Josh Tieman - 620,000
Dan Estes - 280,000

Julien Nuijten - 470,000
Stuart Rutter - 430,000

Joseph Elpayaa - 675,000
Cary Katz - 225,000

Mayday

Benjamin May's tournament has come to end.

With the board reading {A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}, Stuart Rutter bet 50,000 and May min-raised to 100,000. Rutter moved all-in, and May called.

Rutter: {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
May: {A-Spades}{8-Spades}

May couldn't find an eight on the river, rather the {6-Hearts} was dealt, and he was eliminated from the tournament.

Rutter is now heads up with Nuijten.

Waking Up With Aces

Waking up with aces after a shove in front is a beautiful thing.

Just ask Julien Nuijten.

Stuart Rutter opened to 13,000 and Eugene Katchalov shoved for 85,000. Nuijten re-shoved and Rutter folded. Katchalov was in bad shape for his tournament life.

Nuijten: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}
Katchalov: {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

The {10-Spades}{Q-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop kept Katchalov on life support, and the {J-Diamonds} on the turn gave a couple of extra outs.

The {K-Spades} on the river gave Katchalov the wrong straight though, and he hit the rail.

Table 368 is now three-handed, and Nuijten is chip leader with 425,000 chips.

Hinkle Hits the Road, Levi Gets the W

Blair Hinkle
Blair Hinkle

Blair Hinkle was on the ropes after his failed experiment with ten-deuce. He was all in soon after with {q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} against Nicolas Levi's {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}. The board ran out a pedestrian {8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}. Hinkle had already stood up from the table and grabbed his things by the river, but Levi wouldn't let him go without a handshake and half-hug. Levi and his troop of Winamax railers can now move on to strategizing for tomorrow.

The Dolly's No Good for Hinkle

Nicolas Levi had the button and opened to 14,000. Blair Hinkle three-bet to 40,000, Levi four-bet to 112,000, Hinkle five-bet shoved and Levi snapped.

The hands?

Hinkle: {10-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Levi: {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}

Whoa now.

The board ran {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{J-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and Levi pulled in the 818,000-chip pot.

Hinkle is now crippled, left with only 82,000 chips.

"That's Sick"

With the board reading {6-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, Benjamin May check-called a 34,000 chip bet from Julien Nuijten.

The river was the {J-Hearts} and this time May led for 60,000. Nuijten called.

May tabled {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a turned full house, and Nuijten quickly flashed his cards at May before mucking.

"That's sick," May said to Nuijten while raking in his chips.

May is up to 220,000 chips, but Nuijten is still the table chip leader with 340,000.

Chino's Nightmare Ends

Chino Rheem
Chino Rheem

The board read {7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} when David "Chino" Rheem moved all-in on Joe "bigegypt" Elpayaa.

Elpayaa called, tabling {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}, and Rheem opened {Q-Spades}{6-Hearts}.

Chino needed a five or a queen to double, but unfortunately for him the {8-Diamonds} was neither.

The last few minutes were absolutely hell for Chino, and he is now busto.

Elpayaa is now heads up and holds the chip lead over Cary Katz:

Elpayaa: 610,000 chips
Katz: 290,000 chips

Deal or No Deal

Let's make a deal!
Let's make a deal!

Josh Tieman and Danny Estes have agreed on a $15,000 save. This means the player who advances to the final table will pay the loser fifteen dimes.

You may be thinking to yourself: "Why would they do this?"

Well, if you check the Payouts tab above, you will see that if you make the final table you are guaranteed $71,998, but if you get knocked out today you only earn $16,607.

So $15,000 of insurance for a $55,381 differential is actually quite sensible.

Bad News for Chino

Cary Katz and Chino Rheem got it all in preflop once again. This time, it was Cary's {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} against Chino's {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. The board fell {8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}, and though he flopped a wheel draw, Rheem couldn't get there. He was down to 370,000 after the hand, and Katz was up to 315,000.

Immediately after Cary's two blows to Rheem's stack, Joseph Elpayaa made his day even worse. Elpayaa was all in pre with {a-Spades}{6-Spades} against Rheem's {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. The flop came {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, giving Elpayaa a few outs and adding a flush draw to Rheem's overpair. The {4-Diamonds} on the turn put some chop outs on the board. And then the {6-Diamonds} on the river delivered a third blow to Rheem. He's gone from big chip lead to short stack in record time.

Rheem - 140,000
Elpayaa - 500,000
Katz - 315,000
