Check Out Table 35

In a tournament that features over 2,200 players it is tough to find a table with more than a few notables, but over on table 35 we definitely have a table to watch.

James Mackey, Danny Wong, Jennifer Tilly, Shaun Deeb, Jorge Arias and Thor Hansen are seated together - and most importantly - on a table that isn't going to break today.

Aces Up For Bellande

Jean Robert-Bellande
Jean Robert-Bellande

Twitter is by far the biggest fad to have swept the floors of the WSOP since it's movement to the Rio.

One of the social networking and microblogging service's biggest tweeters is Jean-Robert Bellande under the handle of 'BrokeLivingJRB' who details the crazy swings he experiences on a daily basis playing poker.

Bellande - and of course all of his fans - will be happy to hear that Bellande has made a great start to Event 8.

Three players put 225 into the pot preflop to see a {7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} flop fall and checks follow from all three players. The turn lande the {6-Hearts} and Bellande fired out 600 which was called by just one of his opponents as the other casually tossed in his hand.

The river landed the {K-Hearts} and after some deliberation Bellande tossed in a bet of 2,100. His opponent quickly made the call tabling his {K-Spades}{7-Spades} for two-pair, but it would be Bellande's {A-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} for a better two-pair enough to take the pot down as see 'BrokeLivingJRB' chip up to just under 10,000 in chips.

Obrestad Lays Down a Set

After the turn, with the board showing {2-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, Seat 4 check and Annette Obrestad bet 100. Seat 4 made the call and then led out for a bet of 350 when the {9-Hearts} hit the river.

Obrestad raised to 1,050 only to be reraised to 3,350. After a moment's hesitation, Obrestad flipped over pocket nines and folded. She is now left with a stack of 3,500.

All In and Call!

"All in and call table 8!"

"All in, call, all in and call!"

This is what you hear on several occasions as you walk from one end of the room to the other.

Although $1,500 might not seem much to some - and also plenty for others - it is no means to just donk off your chips.

With hour-long levels, a ninety big blind starting stack and a potentially half a million dollar payday on the line for the winner, the forty or so people that have already been eliminated are probably regretting their strategic approach to Event 8.

Deeb Dusted

Facing an under the gun raise to 275, Freddy Deeb pushed his last 1,725 into the pot. The remaining active players tossed in their cards but the original raiser made the call.

Deeb: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}
Opponent: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}

The board ran out a rather undramatic {6-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{4-Spades} to put Deeb on the rail.

"Good luck boys" stated a calm Deeb as he pushed in his chair and quietly vacated the tournament floor.

Durrrr Takes a Hit

On a board of {9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{Q-Hearts}, Tom Dwan bet 950 and was check-called by his opponent. When the {4-Spades} fell on the river, the unknown player checked and Durrrr bet 1,150.

The call was made and Dwan turned over {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for two pairs. It was no good though as his opponent had made a straight with the {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}. Dwan is down to 1,625.

More Notables Spotted

A number recognizable faces have been spotted in the Pavilion. Vanessa Rousso, Corwin Cole, J.C. Tran, and Eric Baldwin have all been spotted.

Table 81 appears to be fairly stacked with Former Player of the Year Jeff Madsen, Stefan Rapp, and Annette Obrestad, who is playing in her first 2010 WSOP event.

We are about thirty minutes into Level 1 and more pros are sure to trickle in.

I guess there is no time to rest for a Champion!

Michael 'The Grinder' Mizrachi took down the Event 2: $50,000 Poker Players Championship around eight hours ago for a cool $1,559,046.

We aren't sure if he has had any chance to celebrate, grab a victory drink or even sleep, but what we do know is that he is here in this event hoping to add another gold bracelet to his wrist!
