Tighe Housed

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 300 ante

David Tighe - {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades} / {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
Alex Wice - {6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{8-Spades} / {6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts}

David Tighe has been eliminated from the tournament by Alex Wice. We caught the action on fifth street when the two got all in, and Tighe failed to make a better full house or quads and was eliminated in 39th place.

The Bubble Has Burst!!

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 300 ante

Bowes: {a-Clubs}{q-}/ {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} / {j-Spades}
Wice: {9-Clubs}{k-Clubs} / {j-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} / {k-Hearts}

After Kerry Shakura was eliminated minutes into level 13, we found our bubble boy in Deon Bowes, and he was eliminated in brutal fashion. The last of Bowes's chips were in the middle on fourth street, where he had a pair of aces against Alex Wice's four club draw. Wice picked up a pair of jacks on fifth street, then made two pair on sixth street. However, Bowes also picked up two pair with his aces and twos, and needed to dodge Wice's full house and flush draw outs on the river. Bowes failed to improve on the river, and Wice drew the {k-Hearts} to made a full boat on seventh street and knocked out Bowes on the bubble. For the remaining 40 players, they are now at least $2,612 richer.

Dinner Break

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

We have reach the end of Level 12, and players are now on a 60-minute dinner break. We still have 42 players left, so the money bubble will have to burst after the players get some food.

Quads Double Seiver

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

On fifth street, Scott Seiver got the rest of the money in against Chad Brown and made quads by seventh street.

Seiver joked with his friends, "This is what I wait for. I wait for quads."

Seiver was our shortest stack with 7,000 but the double up gives him about 15,000 as we are just two away from the money.

The Bubble Approaches

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

We have just 42 players left, meaning we are two knockouts from the money. This also means that we are now dealing hand for hand until the bubble bursts, which will give us our 40 players in the money.

Brown's Two Pair Bests Buchman

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Brown: (x)(x) / {7-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} / (x)
Buchman: (x)(x) / {q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} / (x)

We caught the action on fifth street where Eric Buchman had led out and Chad Brown raised. Buchman thought it over for about thirty seconds, and got out raising chips but settled on just calling. Brown bet out on sixth street, and again Buchman just called before checking in the dark going into seventh street. Brown checked, saying "two pair" and flipped up {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. Buchman slowly squeezed his final card, then shook his head and slowly mucked. Brown chipped up to about 38,000 while Buchman fell to 52,000.

Gank Doubles

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Brett "Gank" Jungblut - (x) (x) / {k-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} / (x)
Deon Bowes - (x) (x) / {7-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{7-Clubs} / (x)

Jungblut completed with the {k-Diamonds} showing, and his opponent Bowes called with the {7-Diamonds}. Jungblut slowed down on fourth, check-calling a bet from Bowes, and both players checked on fifth. Things picked up on sixth when Jungblut led out, Bowes raised, Jungblut moved all in and Bowes called.

Jungblut: {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Bowes: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

Bowe needed a seven on seventh, but didn't receive one and mucked his hand. Jungblut doubled to 15,000 chips.

Deeb Check-Calls Some Chips Away

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Tighe: (x)(x) / {j-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{a-Clubs} / (x)
Deeb: (x)(x) / {7-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs} / (x)

Shaun Deeb had his stack up to around 92,000 before he just lost a pot to David Tighe. On every street, Deeb checked, Tighe bet, and Deeb called. At showdown, Tighe showed {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}for a well disguised aces up. Deeb mucked, but still has 80,000 in chips. Tighe is now up to 67,000.
