Turner Hoping to Turn It Around

Level 18

Razz

Jon Turner has the shortest stack of the remaining 18 at the moment. Just now he was forced to bring it in with a {Q-} up, Brian Rast completed with a {5-}, and Turner called.

Rast kept betting for the next two streets, picking up a {4-} and a {J-}. Turner called on fourth with an {8-}, but when he picked up another {Q-} on fifth he got out.

Turner is down to just 175,000, while Rast is cruising along with 2.06 million.

Jeffrey Lisandro: (X)(X) / {5-}{2-}{10-}{9-} / (X) - FOLDED

We picked up this one on fourth street, with Hellmuth betting and Lisandro calling. Hellmuth would bet the next three streets as well, with Lisandro calling the first two, then letting his hand go.

Scott Seiver raised from the cutoff, Vladimir Shchemelev called in the big blind, and the flop fell {5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. Shchemelev led, Seiver raised, and Shchemelev called.

Both players checked the {5-Hearts} on the turn, and the river was the {3-Spades}. Shchemelev led, and Seiver called. Shchemelev opened up {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}{q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} for a pair of tens, Seiver folded and Shchemelev took the pot.

Chip Leaders Chop

Level 18

Omaha-8

It folded around to Brian Rast in the small blind who raised, and Josh Arieh called from the big blind. The flop came {Q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. Rast bet, Arieh raised, and Rast called. The turn was the {5-Spades} and Rast bet once more. This time Arieh just called. The river was the {J-Clubs}, and Arieh again called Rast's bet.

Rast: {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}
Arieh: {6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades}

Nut low for Rast, and trip fours for Arieh, and the two big stacks chopped the pot. Arieh still sits atop the counts with 2.09 million, with Rast his nearest challenger right now with 1.91 million.
