The Mouth Quieted

Owen Crowe was in the cutoff and decided his bets course of action was to raise to 2,600. Martin de Knijff was in the small blind and decided to come along for the ride, but Mike "The Mouth" Matusow had other plans in the big blind. He put in a reraise to 9,600 and drove Crowe from the hand. With action back on de Knijff, he surprised the table with a four-bet to 27,600.

Matusow tanked for a long time before pulling out a coin and giving it a flip. We're not sure what it came up, but it led to a Matusow fold.

Higher Two Pair for Razavi

An under-the-gun Samad Razavi raised to 2,700 and received calls from Joshua Weizer in the cutoff and Dan Martin in the small blind. When the flop fell {10-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, Martin checked, Razavi bet 5,000, Weizer called, and Martin conceded the hand.

Razavi then check-called a bet of 8,500 on the {2-Hearts} turn, leading to the {2-Spades} on the river. Again Razavi check-called a bet, this time 15,000, and Weizer showed {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for tens and deuces; however, it was no good as Razavi rolled over {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} for a higher two pair.

Pocket Nines for Oliver

Action folded to Grayson Nichols in the cutoff and he threw in a raise to 2,500, which was called by Brandon Adams on the button and Chris Oliver in the small blind. Action checked to Adams on the {2-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop, inspiring him to bet 4,500. Oliver made the call while Nichols decided to get out of the way.

Both players proceeded to check both the {8-Clubs} turn and {10-Spades} river, at which point Oliver revealed {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. It was good as Adams simply mucked.

Check-Raise by Lewis

James Akenhead opened for 2,600 under the gun and received calls from Michael Benvenuti and Toby Lewis on the button and small blind respectively. Lewis then checked the {3-Clubs}{6-Spades}{K-Hearts} flop, allowing Akenhead to continuation bet 6,800. Benvenuti made the call and Lewis tanked in the small blind. After about 90 seconds, the Brit fired out a check-raise to 13,000. Both Akenhead and Benvenuti folded to the aggression.

If you don't know about Lewis, we suggest you read up. He was one of the players we featured in our Rookie Roundup series prior to the World Series of Poker.

Razavi Rebuilding

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

Samad Razavi raised from under the gun and Erick Lindgren called from the big blind. They both checked the flop of {J-Spades} {J-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} but Lindgren bet out 3,500 on the {6-Hearts} turn. Razavi called and the {K-Clubs} came on the river. Lindgren slid out 8,000 and Razavi potted to 36,800.

Before Razavi could finish counting out the bet Lindgren mucked his hand. Razavi flashed pocket kings and has just under 50,000.
