Lucky Number 7 for Arieh

Josh Arieh is back over the 200k-mark after battling with Benjamin Lazer.

He opened from the button and Lazer called from the big blind. Arieh drew two, one, and one compared to Lazer's three, two, and one on each draw. Arieh had the lead on the betting as Lazer was in check-call mode on all three betting rounds.

Arieh opened {7-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-Clubs} for a seven and Lazer mucked.

Nam Le raised, David Baker raised on the button, Layne Flack re-raised from the small blind, and only Baker called. On the first draw, Flack stood pat, and led out. Baker drew one, and called.

On the second draw, Baker drew one again, but this time he raised when Flack led out. Flack re-raised, Baker put in a fourth bet, and Baker called.

"Ok," Flack said, finally discarding on the third draw.

"You play high variance poker," said David Baker to Layne Flack after he led and three-bet after the first draw had been made. Flack had just drawn two to Baker's three.

Baker called the three-bet and both players drew one more before Flack check-called a bet. Flack drew one more time and Baker stood pat.

Baker opened {10-}{7-}{6-}{3-}{2-} and Flack mucked.

Baker Cooks Up a Number Two

David Baker had stopped his southward chip trajectory to the cost of some of Nam Le's stack.

Le opened from the hijack and called when Baker three-bet from the next seat. Le drew one to one to Baker's two and then bet 4,000. Call.

Le stood pat and Baker drew one. Le fired out for 8,000 and Baker called. Both stood pat and Le check-called 8,000 from baker.

"Number two," said Baker and opened {7-}{4-}{2-}{3-}{6-}.

"F##K!" responded Le and mucked.

Barry Greenstein - 12th place

Barry Greenstein was short and needed to make something happen. He tried, but it didn't work out for him.

Josh Arieh two-bet from the cut-off and and Greenstein three-bet from the small blind. Benjamin Lazer called from the big blind, as did Arieh.

All three drew two cards before Greenstein bet his final 2,000. Both players called and all three discarded two more cards.

Lazer starting building a side pot as he bet 8,000. Call. Greenstein drew two once more and both opponents stood pat. Lazer bet another 8,000 and that convinced Arieh to fold.

Lazer: {5-}{4-}{6-}{7-}{2-}
Greenstein: {7-}{6-}{6-}{6-}{2-}

That was it for "The Bear". Another deep run secured in a mixed-game event.
