Friedman the First To Go

An under-the-gun player limped in, Erik Seidel raised from the next seat, Humberto Brenes called and then Perry Friedman called all in.

The four players saw the flop come down {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and three of the payers were active with Friedman all in. The three active players checked the flop and then checked the {6-Spades} turn and {5-Hearts} river.

At the showdown, Friedman showed the {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for a king-high flush. Brenes showed the {A-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts} for an ace-high flush and won the pot. Friedman was eliminated as the first person sent home on the night.

Ivey Drops One

Last night was a very epic one in terms of poker with both Phil Ivey and Phil Hellmuth in contention for a bracelet. Ivey wound up coming second to Andy Frankenberger, while Hellmuth went on to win his 12th gold bracelet. What does that mean? Well, Ivey's right back to work here tonight while Hellmuth may be taking some time off to celebrate.

On this hand, action folded to Ivey in the small blind and he raised. The big blind reraised and Ivey called. The flop came down {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and Ivey check-raised his opponent. The player called.

On the {8-Spades} turn that paired the board, Ivey check-called a bet from his opponent. He then check-called the {A-Spades} on the river.

The big blind tabled the {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Spades} for aces full of eights and won the pot. Ivey mucked his hand and dropped back to 10,000 in chips.

Davis and Kornuth Chop

On the {As]{J-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{8-Spades} board, four players were in contention. Up first was Alexander Kuzmin and he bet. Daniel Ospina folded and Raymond Davis called. Chance Kornuth raised and Kuzmin folded. Davis called.

The {7-Clubs} landed on the river and Davis check-called a bet from Kornuth.

Kornuth showed the {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts} for a set of aces. Davis showed the {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Spades} for an eight-five low and the two chopped up the pot.

Another Deck for Table 351

Level 1 : 200/400, 0 ante

Table 351 has Mike Sexton, Brett Richey, Alex Dovzhenko, Chris George and Roland Israelashvili seated at it, amongst others. The table just needed a new deck of cards, and it's their third or fourth since the tournament began.

The table has been warned by the tournament staff and also informed that an extra security camera has been placed on the table to watch the action and see if anyone is deliberating marking cards. We'll be sure to keep an eye on this situation as the table is located just a few feet from our media desk.

Negreanu Gets Scooped

After an early-position player limped in, Vitaly Lunkin limped in from middle position. Daniel Negreanu was in the cutoff seat and raised. The small blind called, David Bach called in the big blind, the first limper called and Lunkin called.

The five players took the {Q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop and action checked all the way to Negreanu. He bet and the small blind raised. Action then folded to Lunkin and he called. Negreanu reraised and the small blind called. Lunkin also called.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds}. The small blind and Lunkin checked to Negreanu, who bet. After the small blind made the call, Lunkin raised. Negreanu called and the small blind called.

The river was the {2-Clubs} and the small blind checked. Lunkin bet, Negreanu called and the small blind folded.

Lunkin showed the {A-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades} for a wheel and Negreanu mucked his hand.
