On the button, Gus Hansen raised to 190,000. Philipp Gruissem reraised to 580,000 from the big blind and Hansen moved all in for 3.4 million. Gruissem called.

Hansen: {J-Spades}{10-Spades}

The flop, turn and river ran out {7-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} and Gruissem won the pot with trip aces to send Hansen out the door.

Small Flush for Steven

Tom Marchese raised from under the gun to 150,000 and Brandon Steven called before action folded to Talal Shakerchi in the cutoff seat. He also called and the three players saw the flop come down {K-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.

On the flop, Marchese checked and Steven bet 235,000. Shakerchi folded and Marchese called. The turn was the {A-Hearts} and both players checked to see the {Q-Hearts} complete the board on the river. Both checked again.

Marchese mucked after Steven showed the {2-Clubs}{2-Hearts} for a flush and dropped back to 6.3 milion. Steven moved to 5.74 million.

Esfandiari Busts Newey

From under the gun, Antonio Esfandiari raised to 130,000. Mikhail Smirnov made the call from the next seat and then action folded to Paul Newey in the big blind. Newey made it 350,000 to go and Esfandiari called. Smirnov also called.

The flop was {9-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Spades} and Newey tank-bet 575,000. Esfandiari called and Smirnov called.

The turn was the {7-Hearts} and Newey moved all in for 1.095 million. Esfandiari called and Smirnov folded.

Esfandiari tabled the {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for top set. Newey held the {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} for an overpair and needed an ace on the river to stay alive.

The {4-Hearts} landed on fifth street and eliminated Newey while shotting Esfandiari up towards 12 million in chips.

Rast Drop to Below 10MM

Brian Rast raised to 120,000 from the small blind and Ilya Bulychev defended his big blind.

The flop came down {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and Rast bet 180,000. Bulychev made the call, and the turn was the {10-Spades}. Rast bet once more sliding out 475,000. Bulychev wasn't folding as he put in the call again.

The river was the {7-Clubs} and Rast bet 775,000. Bulychev tanked for a bit and called after which Rast showed {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. Bulychev showed his {Q-Spades}{5-Spades}, and that was good to take down this big pot.

Preflop Madness

Ben Lamb was under the gun plus one, and he raised it up to 135,000. Talal Shakerchi made the call and Sam Trickett decided to three-bet to 460,000 from the cutoff. Dan Shak was on the button and he cold four bet to 2,000,000.

Lamb, Shakerchi and Trickett all folded and Shak took down a pot pre-flop pot.

Bob Bright was all in right before the break and up against Ilya Bulychev.

Salomon Puts Big Pressure on Hansen

Gus Hansen raised it up to 185,000 from late position and Rick Salomon defended his big blind.

The flop came down {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and both players checked. The turn was the {J-Diamonds} and again it was checked.

This hand seemed to be of small importance, but then the {5-Hearts} got both players to put in chips.

Salomon lead out for 200,000 and Hansen decided to raise it up to 605,000. Salomon put in a three-bet to 1,605,000 and the pressure was back on Hansen. After tanking for a very long time, and counting out the million needed to make the call, he folded his cards.
