Double for Ramdin

"I'm all in," Victor Ramdin yelled over to poker pro Raymond Davis, standing on the rail. We walked over to find Ramdin all in for 7,100 on a board of {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. The action was on Jon Turner, who already had 3,600 chips in front of him and had to call another 3,500 to put Ramdin at risk. Turner tossed four yellow chips in the pot to make the call, and the cards went on their backs:

Ramdin: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Turner: {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

Ramdin was in great position to double, and he jumped out of his seat as the dealer rolled over the {8-Spades} turn and {Q-Clubs} river. Ramdin began stacking close to 20,000 chips. Turner, meanwhile, dropped below his starting stack.

The Cosy Couple: Vamplew and Nitsche

How sweet
How sweet

David Vamplew and Dominik Nitsche are sharing a house somewhere in the desert of Nevada and they have found themselves seated next to each other in the Silver section of the Brasilia room. Vamplew has nearly $2 million of live tournament earnings to his name including a 4th place finish in last years $1,500 WSOP event for $141,030 and a 268th place finish in the WSOP Main Event for $40,654. Vamplew and Nitsche have travelled the world playing poker for the past few years and this is the Germans first visit to Las Vegas because he has just turned 21-years old. So what does he think of this amazing place?

"It's over rated. To be honest I can't stand the ding, ding, ding of all the slot machines," said Nitsche.

It is not only the slot machines that are driving Nitsche insane. This morning Nitsche made Vamplew scrambled eggs for breakfast and then the Scot had the audacity to three-bet him!

The cosy couple share a table with WSOP bracelet holder James Dempsey.

Bellande Battling It Out

Jean-Robert Bellande started the action early during a recent hand by making it 525 from early position. Two players on his immediate left quickly made the call, while the next person in line moved all in for 1,275. Bellande along with the other two middle position players completed and four players got to see the flop.

With a {9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} flop Bellande took control and pushed 2,000 in the middle. One of the two middle position players folded while the other made the call.

A {6-Clubs} turn allowed for both players to check. Action repeated itself on the river when the {10-Clubs} made an appearance and both players knuckled the table. Cards were about to be turned over when Jean-Robert announced "I have a nine" to which his middle position opponent flipped over his {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for a pair of tens. With a sigh from Bellande he mucked his cards. The hand wasn't over yet though, as the short stack who moved all in preflop still had cards. However her {A-Spades}{k-Diamonds} couldn't trump a pair of tens and she was eliminated from the tournament.

Killer Kruglov

Kirill Kruglov
Kirill Kruglov

Kirill Kruglov is having the time of his life amongst the very best players in the world. We joined the action on fourth street on a board of {2-Hearts} {8-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {J-Hearts}, Yevgeniy Timoshenko checked, Chris Moorman checked, Kruglov bet 700 from the cutoff, JC Tran called on the button before Timoshenko check-raised to 2,400 in the small blind. Moorman folded and the combination of Kruglov and Tran made the call.

River: {5-Spades}

All three players decided that poker was boring them and instead decided to play musical statues. The three of them just stared at the board without moving a muscle. Then after a few minutes Timoshenko checked, Kruglov bet 4,200, JC Tran called and Timoshenko folded (although he did win the game of musical statues).

Kruglov showed {6-Hearts} {6-Spades} for the set and Tran mucked his hand.

Table of Death

Table 5 is getting tougher and tougher. Jason Mercier, Chris Moorman and Yevgeniy Timoshenko have just been joined by Erik Seidel and JC Tran. You would imagine that the rest of the players making up the mix would be in awe of their competition. This may be so, but it has not stopped one young Russian from tearing a hole in nearly all of their stacks. Kirill Kruglov has zero WSOP cashes to his name, but that means nothing right now as he is sat holding 51,000 chips.

Kruglov must have had a hot streak of hands to pick up that many chips, amongst that type of company, and the following hand shows. We picked up the action on a board containing more hearts than a tank full of Octopus - {Q-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {K-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {8-Hearts} - and Moorman was paying off Kruglov on the river. Moorman held {J-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} and Kruglov held {A-Hearts} {6-Hearts} for the nut flush. That hand has left Moorman with 6,000 chips.

Confused Grospellier

Bertrand Grospellier recently joined the fun here in the Brasilia room and we managed to get a snap shot of a recent hand that unfolded.

We don't know what the action was preflop, but four people still had their hands when the dealer turned over a {A-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flop. The small blind checked along with ElkY in the big blind. After a player in early position checked, the player in middle position made a bet of 500. Grospellier was the only one willing to pay and was awarded a {q-Diamonds} turn.

Grospellier again tapped the felt for a check and his opponent fired out 1,400. Grospellier slowly made the call and both players were shown the {Q-Hearts} river. It was here where Grospellier checked and the player in middle position bet 12,000, putting the famous internet pro all in.

A look of heavy confusion covered Grospellier's face and he was forced to throw away his hand.

Eriquezzo Hustling With Bloch, Mizzi & Co

Andy Bloch raised to 350 in mid-position, Sorel Mizzi called one seat to his left and Ryan Eriquezzo made it a threesome from the big blind. The flop was {K-Clubs} {K-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} and it was Bloch who bet first when he made it 675 and both players called. That was the end of the action as the {2-Hearts} and {A-Spades} were checked through and Eriquezzo picked up the pot holding {K-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds}.

Pinks Have More Fun

Guillaume Darcourt - such a cheeky boy
Guillaume Darcourt - such a cheeky boy

Earlier we brought you news of a great looking table containing the pink haired French maestro Guillaume Darcourt. Darcourt's style is somewhat unorthodox but it has netted him over $1 million in tournament earnings, including a WPT title and a 35th place finish in last years WSOP Main Event. Here is Darcourt showing how the unorthodox way of playing can be quite fun.

Kyle Julius opened the fun house with a bet of 325 from mid-position, Darcourt made the call one seat to his left, Kevin Stammen called on the button and the small blind three-bet to 1,350. Julius and Stammen folded but Darcourt decided he wanted to see the flop.

The flop was {Q-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {5-Diamonds} and Darcourt called a 1,150 c-bet. The turn card brought another five {5-Spades} and the original three-bettor made a very quick 2,300 bet. Darcourt nonchalantly flicked in the call leaving himself 8,500 behind. The river was the {8-Diamonds} and Darcourts opponent moved all-in and the Frenchman made the quick call. It was {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts} for the three-bettor and {K-Clubs} {5-Clubs} for Darcourt.

This left the three-bettor with around 1,800 in chips and they were handed to Kyle Julius in the next hand. Julius picking up {8-Spades} {8-Hearts} to send the angry looking player home holding {K-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}. As the player left we looked at Darcourt and he gave us the cheekiest of cheeky smiles.
