Day 2 of the $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em Mixed-Max has come to an end with 31 players gearing up for the chance to compete for a WSOP bracelet tomorrow in a heads-up tournament.
The day started with 112 players playing six-handed and play was scheduled to last until 32 remained. Interestingly enough we lost two players on the last hand of the night, and chip leader Warwick Mirzikinian will receive a bye in the round of 32 as a result. The bracket is seeded by having the largest stack face off against the smallest stack, the second largest stack against the second shortest stack, and so on. Here is how the final 31 will square off.

With the elimination of 81 players today it was only natural that few familiar faces wouldn't be making day 3. Chad Brown, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Collins, Eli Elezra and Eugene Katchalov all made impressive showings before being eliminated early on in the day.
Joe Tehan again controlled the chip lead for most of the day, but as the night wore on his chip stack started to dwindle before ending the night with 67,000. Former November Niner Joseph Cheong went on a rush late in the evening to end the day with 307,500 and looks to face off against Nabih Zaczac who holds 78,000.
With the exit of Ronald Lee, all remaining players made the money. Once the money bubble was burst players started dropping fairly quickly. Unfortunately, WIll Failla knows the feeling all too well as two back-to-back hands sent him packing..

With the recent elimination of Jesse Yaginuma the tournament was down to the mandated 32 for the day. However while Yaginuma was being eliminated; another player, Raja Kattamuri also was knocked out. The field is now down to the final 31 players.
Who ever ends up with the biggest chip stack tonight will be given a bye tomorrow in the first round of heads up in order to rectify this.
Tikhonov Taking Off
Level 16
: 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
With 33 players left Victor Ramdin bet out 6,500 from under the gun. Jesse Yaginuma in the cut off then raised to 17,500. The blinds still had to act and Sergey Tikhonov in the small blind three bet to 32,000. Action was back on Ramdin who took about a minute or two before ultimately folding. When it came back to Yaginuma, he moved all in for 108,500. Tikhonov then took a few minutes before completing the call.

With two monster hands, the winner was going to received a very large pot. The dealer pressed out a 
, giving Tikonov a set of queens. Tikhonov was not out of the woods yet, he stilled needed to avoid a jack or run run clubs as to not have a split pot happen.

river Taginuma was eliminated and Tikhonov raked in a great pot.
Will the Thrill Indeed
Will Failla started out this recent hand by making it 6,000 from the cutoff. Nicolas Levi, on the button, then raised to 13,500. Failla made the call and both players witnessed a 
flop. It was here that Failla check-called a bet of 11,500 from Levi.
An 
turn brought a repeat of action with Failla again check-calling a bet from Levi, this time 13,000. A river 
saw Failla bet out 20,000. Levi then made it 45,000, Failla completed the call and was shown 
by his opponent for a jack-high straight. After the hand, Failla was knocked down to 46,500.
A hand later Failla was at it again, only this time against Cheong. Failla moved all in for 46,000 from the hijack and was called by Joseph Cheong on the button.

Failla was all in and behind for his tournament life. a 
board brought Failla two pair, but it was only second best as Cheong's ace-ten was the better hand.

Dominating Danchev
We don't know how the action unfolded, but what we do know is that Matthew Frankland was all in and at risk holding . His opponent, Dimitar Danchev held 
and looked to be in great shape.
A 
flop was probably one of the best flops Danchev could have imagined as his pair of aces now had a stranglehold on the hand. A 
turn sealed the deal and Frankland was eliminated. A meaningless 
fell out of the deck for the river as Frankland was escorted to where he can get his 37th place money.

One of the first hands back was a quick one for Olivier Busquet as he managed to get all in against Brock Parker. With a
