Benvenuti Forced to Fold

A player opened to 650 in late position, and Michael Benvenuti called him on his direct left. The flop fell {7-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, and the player continued for 900. Benvenuti called.

The turn was the {10-Spades}, both players checked, and the {6-Spades} completed the board. Benvenuti's opponent led for 2,600, and Benvenuti tank-folded.

Blom Heating Up

We caught up with the action just as the dealer was dealing the flop. It appeared that Viktor Blom opened from the cutoff and was three-bet by his opponent on the button. Blom made the call for a heads-up pot.

The flop came {6-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and Blom check-called a 1,500 bet from his opponent.

The {10-Diamonds} fell on the turn and this time Blom led out for 3,250. His opponent tanked a bit, but eventually tossed a single 5,000-denomination chip into the middle for a call.

The {4-Spades} completed the board and Blom cut out a bet to 10,600 and tossed it into the middle. His opponent folded after some thought and Blom scooped the pot.

Blom is up to 39,000.

Top Pair For Schwartz

Luke Schwartz raised to 600 from the button and the big blind called. The flop came down {Q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and both players checked.

Fourth street was the {8-Spades} and Schwartz's opponent bet 600. Schwartz called and then called a bet of 1,000 on the {7-Clubs} river. Schwartz's opponent showed {J-Clubs}{9-Spades} for nothing and Schwartz tabled {Q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for a pair of queens. He's now sitting at 25,600 in chips.

Savage Ravages Opponent

A player raised it up to 600 and action folded around to the blinds. Matt Savage called from the small blind and Michael Weiss called from the big.

The flop came {A-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{8-Clubs} causing both blinds to check. The middle position player continued for 750. Savage made the call while Weiss got out of the way.

The {8-Hearts} on the turn brought more of the same with Savage check-calling a bet, this time for 2,100.

The {3-Diamonds} on the river saw a third check from Savage. The middle position player struggled for a check. Savage announced "ace" and the middle position player threw his cards in the muck. Savage eventually flipped over his cards and revealed {A-Diamonds}{2-Spades}.
