Riordan Runs Out of Time

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

After a series of preflop bets, John Riordan was all in and at risk preflop holding {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}. He was dominated by Kristijonas Andrulis, who held {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}, and the Lithuanian held as the board came {q-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}.

DeGilio Doubles

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Mike DeGilio, who was one of the shorter stacks on the bubble, was all in and at risk preflop for 44,000 with {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}. James Copher had him at risk with {a-Spades}{7-Hearts}, and the {10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Spades} flop gave DeGilio a gut-shot straight draw. The {6-Hearts} on the turn gave him a flush draw, and he was now drawing to seventeen outs.

The {k-Spades} on the river was one of those outs, and DeGilio doubled to 90,000 chips.

Vamplew and Sands Continue to Spar

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

David Vamplew opened to 6,000 in the cutoff, David "Doc" Sands defended his big blind, and the flop fell {6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. Sands checked, Vamplew continued for 8,000, and Sands check-raised to 26,500. Vamplew tanked for a bit, then made the call.

The turn was a second deuce - the {2-Spades} - and Sands checked again. Vamplew slid forward 28,000, and Sands sent his cards into the muck.

Benger Busts Three in Three Hands

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

After eliminating Andreas Hoivold, Griffin Benger claimed two more victims in the following two hands.

With the board reading {J-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs}{4-Spades}, Andy Seth got his stack of about 60,000 into the middle with {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}. Benger was ahead with {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and held up through the {10-Diamonds} river to eliminate Seth.

The following hand, Ryan Schmidt shoved from the hijack for 15,500 and Benger called in the cutoff with {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. A chopped pot was likely as Schmidt tabled {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, but the board ran out {K-Spades}{J-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}, giving Benger a pair of threes on the river to score yet another elimination.

Rast Busts Rybachenko; Guillen and Others Exit as Well

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Brian Rast opened for a raise from under the gun, Sergey Rybachenko moved all in for around 50,000 in the hijack seat, and Rast made the call.

Rast: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Rybachenko: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

Rast took the lead in the race when the flop fell {4-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}, and Rybachenko hit the rail when the turn and river came {7-Diamonds}, {4-Hearts} respectively.

Rast now sits with 175,000 chips.

Also joining Rybachenko on the rail are Angel Guillen, Steve Brecher, and Andreas Hoivold.

Sands Calls Down Vamplew

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

On the last hand of the bubble, David Vamplew and David "Doc" Sands were heads up on a flop of {6-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{q-Spades}. Vamplew fired out 6,000, Sands called, and the turn brought the {a-Clubs}.

Vamplew tossed out another 14,000, Sands once again called, and the {3-Hearts} completed the board. Vamplew emptied the chamber firing a third and final bullet worth 40,000, and Sands instantly called.

Vamplew showed {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for a pair of queens, but it was no good against Sands' {a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for two pair.
