Violette Can't Believe Her Luck

Level 13
Cyndy Violette
Cyndy Violette

Omaha Hi-Lo

We picked up the action with Cyndy Violette already all in with about 30,000 in the pot on a flop of {4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. After the dealer burned and turned the {A-Clubs}, Jim McCrink bet from the under-the-gun position and then called when Dan Kelly raised him. McCrink then check-called a bet on the {Q-Diamonds} river and Violette stood and grabbed her things in anticipation of her exit.

Kelly then tabled the {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} for aces and tens with the nut low, while McCrink rolled over the {2-Spades}{3-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} for the same low. That meant Kelly got three-quarters of the side pot. Violette then sat back down in her chair and showed the {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs} for a set of fours, which was good for half the high while her two male opponents chopped the low.

"Wow. I thought I was dead for sure," Violette said in regards to the third diamond on the river.

Meanwhile, both Andy Bloch and Justin "Boosted J" Smith have been eliminated from the tournament.

Tens Up For Phan

Level 13

Stud

Marcel Luske{x-}{x-} / {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{9-Hearts} {x-}
Young Phan{x-}{x-} / {2-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} / {x-}

We caught up on fourth street to find Marcel Luske and Young Phan heads up in a hand. Luske fired out on fourth street and Phan called. Luske continued to fire bets that were called on fifth, sixth, and finally seventh. After a call on seventh, Luske showed {8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for nines and eights. Luske was beaten, however, when Phan rolled over {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for tens up and a better two pair. Phan is now up to about 26,500 while Luske has fallen to 41,000.

Gregorich Eliminates Pollak in Stud

Level 13

Stud

Benjamin Pollak: {q-Diamonds}{8-Spades} / {j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{10-Spades} / {7-Diamonds}
Mark Gregorich: {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} / {10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Spades}{7-Clubs} / {5-Clubs}

We came upon the action when Benjamin Pollak was getting the last of his chips in on sixth street and Mark Gregorich called him.

"Just the sevens," Gregorich said. They were no good as Pollak tabled the {Q-Spades}{8-Spades} for a pair of eights. Seventh was dealt facedown and Gregorich showed that he had improved to two pair with the {5-Clubs}. That meant Pollak needed to pair one of his cards on seventh, but he failed to do so as he received the useless {7-Diamonds}.

Michael Mizrachi{x-}{x-} / {8-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{6-Clubs} / {x-}
Alan Myerson{x-}{x-} / {J-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{8-Spades} / {x-}

We picked up with the action on fifth street to find Alan Myerson fire out a bet that Michael Mizrachi called. On sixth, Myerson bet once more and Mizrachi slid out a raise. Myerson called and then checked the river.

"Two pair," said Mizrachi.

Myerson tabled {K-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{6-Spades} for kings up and Mizrachi threw his hand into the muck. The three-time bracelet winner is down to 42,000 while Myerson is sitting on about 82,000.

The 2011 Champ is Frustrated

Level 14
Fabrice Soulier

Jeet Shetty: {x-}{x-} / {6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{7-Clubs}/ {x-}
Fabrice Soulier: [xxx] / {j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{10-Spades} / {x-}

We picked up action on fifth street when Fabrice Soulier, who won this very event back in 2011 when it was a $10,000 buy-in, bet 4,000 and Jeet Shetty called. Soulier then fired another bet on sixth, Shetty raised and the Frenchman made a relatively quick call.

Soulier checked seventh and then shot back in his chair when Shetty bet. Soulier began talking to himself, stood from his chair and generally seemed frustrated with the spot he was in. Eventually Soulier sat back down and splashed in a call.

"Straight," Shetty said before tabling the {8-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades}. Soulier began to mumble to himself while pulling the edges of his hole cards up and down quite aggressively. The frustration he was taking out on the cards bent the corner of the {K-Clubs} clubs so much that the floor had to change it after the hand.

Fabrice Soulier{x-}{x-} / {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} / {x-}
David Benyamine{x-}{x-} / {2-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{4-Hearts} / {x-}

We arrived at the table on fifth street to see Fabrice Soulier fire out a bet. David Benyamine called and the same action occurred on sixth street. Soulier had just 300 in chips behind when he received his final card and he tossed it in the middle. Benyamine called, looked at his last card and rolled over {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{A-Spades} for two pair of eights and sevens.

Soulier looked at his final card, stood up from the table, then flung all of his cards up in the air over the table. He made a quick beeline out of the tournament area while Benyamine stacked his new chips. Benyamine is now sitting on about 160,000.

David Moskowitz: {x-}{x-} / {3-Clubs}{a-}{8-}{q-} / {x-}
Cyndy Violette: {x-}{x-} / {5-}{q-}{10-}{8-} / {x-}

We picked up the action on fourth street with Cyndy Violette already all in. David Moskowitz and Eric Dalby were engaged in a side pot, with the former firing bets on every street thereafter and the latter calling him down.

Dalby: {2-}{4-}{6-}
Moskowitz: {2-}{6-}{7-}
Violette: {a-}{4-}{6-}

Dalby showed a 7-6-4-3-2 low, but it was no good as Moskowitz held a 7-6-3-2-A low. Violette then showed a 8-6-5-4-A low before hitting the rail.

Meanwhile, Roberto Marin was eliminated by Todd Brunson in a hand of Razz one table over.
