Aces for Aguiar

Jonathan Aguiar
Jonathan Aguiar

Jonathan Aguiar was just now all in before the flop versus Eric Froehlich in a hand that began with three-way action but ended with only the pair involved.

Froehlich had {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and Aguiar {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}, and after the community cards came {4-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts}, Aguiar earned a double up while Froehlich slipped to less than ten big blinds with the money bubble still a few spots away.

Steinberg Adds to Stack

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Barry Hutter opened to 5,200 from the button, and was called by Matt Waxman and Max Steinberg from the blinds, as the flop came down {2-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}. The action was checked over to Hutter, who threw out a continuation bet of 8,500, which only Steinberg called. The {5-Spades} on the turn brought two checks before the {K-Clubs} completed the board. Steinberg checked his option, as Hutter proceeded to throw in a bet of 17,000. Steinberg went into the tank for a few minutes, even asking how much Hutter had behind, before raising to 100,000. Hutter then thought for a minute, before making the call, but mucking his hand when Steinberg rolled over {K-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for trips.

Give a Little Bit

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Jonathan Little on Day 2
Jonathan Little on Day 2

Jonathan Little just claimed a massive pot after forcing Chris Klodnicki to an extremely difficult decision on the river.

The board read {6-Spades}{4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Spades} by the turn, and both players checked to see the {A-Diamonds} fall on the river.

After Klodnicki led out for 25,000, Little announced himself all in, putting Klodnicki's last 95,000 or so chips at risk if he elected to call.

Calmly eating his All American Dave dish, Klodnicki tanked for more than five minutes while pondering his next move, even whispering "ace-five or ace-nine?" to himself a few times while he assessed the situation.

Eventually, Klodnicki made the call, and when Little revealed the {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts} his initial suspicions were confirmed. Just like that, Klodnicki hit the rail short of a cash, while Little regained some momentum after entering Day 2 as the chip leader.

Lindgren's Fine Nine

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

The hand started with Pratyush Buddiga opening to 5,000 from the hijack, before Erick Lindgren raised to 12,000 from the cut-off. Buddiga made the call as both saw the flop come down {10-Spades}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. Both opted to check, before Buddiga bet out 16,500 on the {9-Hearts} turn. Lindgren made the call, and both were happy to check, when the {5-Clubs} completed the board.

Buddiga tabled his {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}, but it was no good against Lindgren’s {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.

Negreanu Wins One With a River Bet

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Daniel Negreanu on Day 2
Daniel Negreanu on Day 2

We heard no table talk coming from Daniel Negreanu's direction, which had to mean "Kid Poker" was involved in a hand.

Sure enough, Negreanu was playing the turn with the board reading {4-Spades}{8-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{j-Hearts}. After his opponent checked, Negreanu fired away with a bet of 12,400, and the the other player called to see the {7-Diamonds} drop in on the river.

Another tap of the table by his opponent induced a bet of 24,000 by Negreanu, which was enough to force the fold. Negreanu's stack has been swinging a bit lately, but after this last hand he has things moving in the right direction as the money bubble nears.

River Value for Makhija

Amit Makhija
Amit Makhija

With the board showing {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{4-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{J-Spades} and about 30,000 already in the middle, Andrew Robl checked and watched Amit Makhija slowly carve out a single column of yellow (1,000) chips for a bet of 20,000.

A couple of minutes' worth of contemplation-filled riffling ensued for Robl before finally he called Makhija's bet. The latter quickly tabled his {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}, and Robl just as quickly tossed his cards away.
