Ryan Schmidt Eliminated in 13th Place ($12,122)

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Ryan Schmidt
Ryan Schmidt

The eliminations have come fast and furious here in Level 19. The latest to go was Ryan Schmidt, who was dispatched by chip leader Manig Loeser.

It happened when Schmidt got his stack of approximately 165,000 all in preflop holding the {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and was called by the {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} of Manig. The {6-Spades}{5-Spades}{a-Clubs} flop paired both players' ace, but Manig's queen was the better kicker. The {2-Clubs} turn meant Schmidt needed to catch a nine on the river to survive, but since this is an elimination post you already know that didn't happen. Instead the {7-Clubs} peeled off to send Schmidt home in 13th place.

We're now down to 12 players which means it's time for the two-table redraw.

Aleksandr Gnatenko Eliminated in 14th Place ($12,122)

Aleksandr Gnatenko - 14th Place
Aleksandr Gnatenko - 14th Place

Action folded to Aleksandr Gnatenko's button where he put out a raise to 16,000. Manig Loeser peered at his hole cards from the small blind and cut out a three-bet to 42,000. The big blind folded and action came back around to Gnatenko. He decided to four-bet to 85,000.

Loeser announced "all in" which was actually a bet for Gnatenko's tournament life. Gnatenko snap called and the hands were tabled.

Gnatenko: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Loeser: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

Gnatenko was in need of help going to the flop but found little of it when {7-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{2-Clubs} hit the felt.

"Come on!" Gnatenko yelled. "Ace!"

Instead it was the {K-Hearts} to fall on the turn. He pleaded once again for one of his outs on the river. Unfortunately for Gnatenko, the {6-Hearts} finished off the board and he became our 14th-place finisher.

Loeser, on the other hand, scooped up a massive pot and is now sitting on 1 million in chips.

Grant Hinkle Eliminated in 16th Place ($12,122)

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Grant Hinkle
Grant Hinkle

Action folded to Eric Blair on the button and he put in a standard raise. The small blind got out of the way and Grant Hinkle opted to move all in from the big blind for roughly 135,000. Blair made the call and Hinkle discovered the bad news.

Blair: {A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Hinkle: {A-Hearts}{3-Clubs}

Hinkle was in need of some help, but the {5-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop didn't provide much. The {2-Diamonds} turn gave Hinkle a gutshot straight draw, but it also have Blair flush blockers. The dealer burned one last time and put out the {9-Spades}, the last card Hinkle would see in Event #4: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em (Six Handed).

One For Loeser

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Action came around to Aleksandr Gnatenko in the small blind who made it 20,000. Manig Loeser three-bet to 49,000 from the big blind and Gnatenko called. The dealer fanned {J-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs} onto the felt and Gnatenko check-called an unknown amount.

Fourth street brought the {K-Hearts} and Gnatenko checked again. Loeser fired 94,000 and was once again called. The {Q-Hearts} on the river prompted two checks and Loeser showed {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}. Gnatenko mucked and Loeser picked up a pot that brings him to around 655,000 in chips.
