Brunson Stands Pat

Level 10

2-7 Triple Draw

Action folded to Allen Kessler in the cutoff and he raised to 10,000. The button folded and then Doyle Brunson three-bet to 15,000 from the small blind. After the big folded, Kessler called and then drew two after Brunson stood pat.

Brunson bet, Kessler called and the action repeated itself after Kessler drew another two. On the final draw, Brunson stood pat and Kessler drew one. Brunson slowed down with a check and before looking at his card Kessler said, "I'm 0 for whatever all day."

Kessler then squeezed out hit card and showed the {Q-Clubs} to signify a check. Brunson then tabled the {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for an eight-low to win the pot.

Down to a short stack and all in before the flop with {Q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} against the {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} of Brandon Cantu, 2010 WSOP Main Event runner-up John Racener saw the board come {2-}{3-}{6-}{3-}{J-}, thereby ending his Event #55 run with about a half-hour to go on Day 2.

Stud-8

Doyle Brunson: {x-}{x-} / {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{k-Hearts} / {x-}
Jennifer Harman: {x-}{x-} / {4-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{k-Clubs} / {x-}
Ofir Mor: {x-}{x-} / {4-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades} Fold

We picked up the action on fourth when Doyle Brunson bet and both Jennifer Harman and Ofir Mor called him.

Harman paired aces on fifth and promptly bet, which elicited a fold from Mor and a call from Brunson. The ten-time bracelet winner then called a bet on sixth and called off his last 1,100 on seventh.

Harman tabled the {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for aces and sixes, but it was no good as Brunson, who is playing his first event of the summer, tabled the {q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{8-Spades} for a flush. Ship the double to Texas Dolly.

Cassidy Takes on the 2005 Main Event Champion

Level 10

No-Limit Hold'em

Joe Cassidy opened for 5,300 from early position and cleared the field to 2005 World Series of Poker Main Event champ Joe Hachem on the button. The Australian proceeded to three-bet to 13,200, Cassidy called and the flop came down {7-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{6-Clubs}.

Cassidy checked, Hachem bet 18,000 and Cassidy called. Both players checked the {J-Diamonds} turn and then Cassidy came out firing 27,000 when the {5-Hearts} completed the board on the river. Hachem snap-folded and Cassidy was pushed the pot.
