The Big Squeeze

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Robert Cheung took a major beat.
Robert Cheung took a major beat.

We came to the table with a pot of about 165,000 sitting in the middle and Karim Lehoussine, the small blind, with zero chips in front of him, all of Robert Cheung's remaining chips pushed forward with the all in button among them and another player, in middle position, faced with a tough decision.

The action was relayed to us like this: the middle position player bet, Robert Cheung called the bet from the hijack and Lehoussine shoved all in. The middle position player just called the all in and Cheung moved all in for his remaining 95,000. It seemed an agonizing fold for the other player, but fold he did, eventually telling everyone he "folded two black jacks".

Cheung: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Lehoussine: {8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

The flop was horrific for Cheung as it fell {3-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} giving Lehoussine trips. Cheung was shaking his head as the {6-Hearts} turn and {a-Spades} river came down, realizing there was nothing there for him. As Lehoussine was raking his pot, he exclaimed, "the big squeeze worked".

Lofberg Makes A Tough Call, Eliminates A Player

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Simon Lofberg raised from the button to 6,000 and the player in the small blind reraised all in for 39,400. Lofberg sat facing the all in bet for quite a while before he eventually made the call.

Lofberg: {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Opponent: {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

King-high would win the pot as the board ran out {a-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Spades} and Lofberg's opponent would be eliminated.

Hulin Busts One

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

The money went all preflop between Huey Hulin ad his opponent. His opponent was in bad shape holding {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts} against the {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} of Hulin.

The board ran out {3-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and Hulin immediately looked to see his opponent had the {j-Hearts} and then was relieved when he realized he had the king.

The buzz inside the walls of the Rio extends beyond just the tournaments on the 2013 World Series of Poker schedule. Online poker in Nevada is a very, very hot topic right now, and WSOP.com is making a lot of noise.

While the site has yet to launch, you can head to the Lambada Room of the Rio or look for one of the beautiful and friendly WSOP.com ladies walking the hallways to sign up for a free, personal WSOP.com online poker account. This is a great way to get a jump on the site's registration, and plenty of people have already taken this opportunity.

What's more is that the WSOP will be hosting daily raffles for everyone that has taken the time to register for WSOP.com at the Rio. What can you win? Plenty of fantastic prizes including 36 WSOP seats!

Players 21 years of age and older who sign up for a WSOP.com account will automatically be entered into the “36-Seat Giveaway” where a randomly-selected winner will win a seat into the next day’s first WSOP gold bracelet event. One of the events eligible in this promotion is the $111,111 One Drop High Roller No-Limit Hold’em tournament that is expected to feature a $10,000,000 prize pool and allow you to play poker with the biggest names in the game. In total, $182,333 in WSOP seats, including a seat to the WSOP Main Event, are being given away during this one-of-a-kind WSOP.com promotion.

In addition to the 36-Seat Giveaway, a “Hot Seat” promotion will allow any player who signs up for a WSOP.com online account and wears their WSOP.com patch on their chest at the table while playing an event to be randomly selected to receive 500 bonus dollars deposited directly into their WSOP.com online account once the site has received all regulatory approvals and launches.

With 62 WSOP gold bracelet events and three winners promised for the Main Event, this promotion includes $32,000 worth of value to those participating.

Big Stacks Sparring

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

John Scaife opened to 7,000 in early position, and Jake Schindler repopped to 14,000 from the button. Scaife looked at the ceiling as if doing mental math, then came back with a two-handed reraise to 49,000. Schindler let his hand go.

We'll keep an eye on their table, as any major confrontation between these two could result in a massive chipleader.

Ojiri Doubles Through Sciafe

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

We came to the action as the money went all in on the turn between Yasuhiro Ojiri and John Scaife. Ojiri was the all in player with 96,500. The board read {5-Spades}{3-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{8-Spades} with Ojiri holding {a-Spades}{k-Spades} for a pair of aces plus the flush draw and Scaife had {a-}{5-} for two pair. The rive came the {k-Clubs} give Ojiri the better two pair and the pot.
