Event #57: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em

Day 1 Started

A Prestigious One Awaits

Cards & Chips
Cards & Chips

The Main Event is looming but there are still more than enough other interesting tournaments to rail, and more than enough money to be made. Today at noon the $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em tournament starts, one of those tournaments you don't want to miss.

Last year 1,001 players registered for event 50. Do you remember that final table? Kyle Julius and Dan Smith got to the three handed part of the tournament but couldn't close the deal. Peter Vilandos eventually won the bracelet and the $952,694 first prize.

Every player starts with 15,000 in chips today and the first hour the players will be playing with blinds of 50 and 75. This tournament is structured as a four day event so the plan is to play ten levels on day one till three.

Check back at noon for updates. In the meantime, check Kristy Arnett's update:

Better Late Than Never

Level 1 : 50/75, 0 ante

This is not a tournament where players are anxiously waiting in the hall way half an hour before the tournament starts. This tournament attracts a lot of seasoned pro's and relaxed amateurs. A lot of them prefer to show up just a little late. These players entered the tournament a little after the clock had started ticking:
