An Odd Hand

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Cameron Tullis raised to 18,000 on the button and then folded when Antonio Bonilla moved all in one seat over. In the very next hand, it was Bonilla who raised the button to 17,000 and then folded against the all in of the small blind.

Kevin Chiem announced "call" on the button but tossed in 16,000 chips, he had to take back 8,000 and limped. The small blind folded and Tullis checked his option in the big blind. Both players checked down the {4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Spades} board until the river. Tullis bet 16,000 and Chiem folded.

John Pearson Eliminated in 14th Place ($3,930)

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
John Pearson - 14th Place
John Pearson - 14th Place

John Pearson managed to double up after that last hand but it wasn’t long before he fell and it was again at the hands of Roland Reparejo.

Pearson moved all in on the button for 60,000 with {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} but he ran into the {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} of Reparejo in the big blind.

The cards ran out {3-Clubs}{4-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Pearson wished the table good luck as he took his leave.

Battle Of The Shorties

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Roland Reparejo and John Pearson clash preflop as the two shortest stacks on the secondary table. It was a classic race with the {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} for Pearson and the {A-Spades}{J-Clubs} for Reparejo. The {4-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop wasn't thrilling yet but the {A-Hearts} turn let Reparejo cheer. "No two please," he said. A three would have delivered a straight as well but instead, the {Q-Clubs} was a blank and Pearson is now really short.

Easy Come, Easy Go

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Charles Nguyen raised on the button and John Taylor three-bet all in from the big blind. Nguyen thought briefly and then called, flipping over the {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}. Taylor needed a deuce after making the big move with {a-Spades}{2-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {9-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{j-Clubs} and Nguyen held for the much needed double up. "Easy Come, Easy Go," Taylor said. "I thought you were stealing." Nguyen was able to steal some precious chips and his stack is a little more comfortable now.

Time to Let Go

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Marcin Sobczak raised to 22,000 and Cameron Tullis moved all in for another 99,000 chips on top of that from the button. After long consideration, Sobczak folded {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} and didn't want to risk just about half of his stack just yet.

On the other table we say John Taylor limp the button and Aaron Henderson fill up, Brian Wong checked his option. Henderson check-raised to 80,000 on the {4-Spades}{9-Hearts}{K-Hearts} flop and Wong as well as Taylor, who had bet 16,500, both quickly folded.

Cory Rodvik Eliminated in 15th Place ($3,930)

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Cory Rodvik - 15th Place
Cory Rodvik - 15th Place

John Taylor opened for 21,500 and Cory Rodvik in the big blind moved all in. Taylor made the call to put Rodvik at risk.

Taylor {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

Rodvik {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}

The final board was {j-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.

Plenty of paint on the flop for Rodvik but the cards he needed to survive stayed in the deck and Taylor grabbed the lead while Rodvik took his leave in 15th place.

"I Thought He Was On Tilt"

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Aaron Henderson defended his big blind against the raise of Charles Nguyen and found middle pair on the {5-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{Q-Spades} flop. Nguyen got his last 60,000 or so all in with the {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and Henderson looked him up with {Q-Hearts}{6-Spades}. He put his opponent on tilt after the previously massive pot lost and figured middle pair would be worth it.

The {9-Spades} turn changed nothing whatsoever and Nguyen even improved to two pair with the {J-Hearts} river. Please take your seat once again.

Taylor Rakes a Big One

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
John Taylor
John Taylor

Charles Nguyen raised on the button to 14,000 and John Taylor made the call in the big blind. The flop was {9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades}. Taylor checked, Nguyen fired 17,000 and Taylor called. The turn was the {8-Clubs} and again Taylor checked. Nguyen bet 23,000 and Taylor came back with a raise to 63,000.

Nguyen made the call and the river was the {a-Clubs}. Taylor quickly announced he was all in for 62,000. Nguyen thought for a moment and eventually made the big call. "Straight," Taylor exclaimed, flipping over the {5-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, bettering the {j-Spades}{9-Hearts} of Nguyen.

Nguyen lost a big chunk of his stack and Taylor is now near the chip lead.

Chiem Flops it, Doubles.

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Kevin Chiem
Kevin Chiem

Corey Emery opened for 13,000 and got a call from Kevin Chiem in the big blind.

Heads up to a flop of {q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}. Chiem checked and a continuation bet of 13,000 from Emery saw Chiem move all in for 59,000.

Emery made the call with {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} but Chiem had it with {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

The turn {5-Hearts} and river {4-Spades} ran out safe for Chiem to double him up through Emery.
