Taylor vs. Nguyen

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

John Taylor raised to 12,000 and Charles Nguyen called from the big blind. On the {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} flop, Nguyen checked, Taylor bet 11,000 and Nguyen responded with a check-raise worth 38,500 with another 96,000 behind.

After some consideration, Taylor announced a re-raise for an additional 41,500 to make his post flop investment 80,000 total. Nguyen moved all in and Taylor tank-folded after failing to extract any information from his opponent.

The Short Stacks are Fighting

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Cory Rodvik raised to 12,000 from under the gun and Aaron Henderson called on the button, the blinds folded. On the {5-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop, Rodvik check-raised all in and Henderson folded for another 46,500 after trying to take down the pot with a bet of 15,500. Rodvik flashed {A-Hearts}{4-Spades} for two pair.

On the secondary table, Roland Reparejo raised to 15,000 from under the gun and all opponents mucked their cards. He also revealed his hole cards and tabled the {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

The roller coaster ride of Patricia Baker has come to an end in 16th place. David Luttbeg opened to 13,000 from under the gun and Baker three-bet shoved from late position for what looked like 35,000. Luttbeg didn't need much time to make the call and it was a flip:

Baker: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}
Luttbeg: {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}

On the {9-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop, the rail of the last remaining woman in the field fell silent. On the {2-Spades} turn it was all over and the {3-Hearts} completed the board.

Reparejo Triples Up

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Marcin Sobczak opened for 17,000 and the player on his left, Roland Reparejo, moved all in for 21,500. The action folded around to Cameron Tullis in the big blind and made the call. Sobczak also committed the extra chips for a call and a side pot for Reparejo was pulled to the side.

Sobczak and Tullis checked down to the river on a board reading {8-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. Sobczak announced “ace high.” Tullis flipped over {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} but Reparejo showed {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades} for the straight to stay alive.

Baker Loses a Large Chunk, Doubles

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Charles Nguyen raised to 14,000 from middle position and Patricia Baker raised all in from the button. Nguyen snap-called once everyone else got out of the way and flipped over {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}. Baker turned over {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and needed to win a race or she would be crippled.

It was bad news for Baker on the flop of {k-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} as Nguyen took the lead. The board ran out {9-Spades}{j-Spades}.
