Geshkenbein Doubled Through Hellmuth

Level 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Phil Hellmuth was first to act on the button and he asked Vladimir Geshkenbein how many chips he was playing, before raising to 55,000.

"Ah, committing yourself," said Geshkenbein, "I like it."

"I tell you what, I'll gamble with you, Russian. I'll call in the dark," said Hellmuth before putting a tower of green T25,000 chips into the middle.

Geshkenbein moved all-in and Hellmuth had already called

Hellmuth: {A-Spades}{4-Spades}

Geshkenbein: {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}

The board ran {A-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and Hellmuth exploded.

"How the f**k does the six play?" referring to the fact Geshkenbein's low kicker won him the pot. "I fold on your blind 10 times in a row, wait until I get an ace and then you have a bigger kicker."

Geshkenbein laughed and fired his toy gun at Hellmuth.

"Nice hand, Russian," said Hellmuth when he returned to his seat.

"I'm Going to Get You"

Davidi Kitai raised to 37,000 when first to act under the gun and the players folded in turn around to Phil Hellmuth in the big blind. Hellmuth three-bet to 76,000 and Kitai called.

Hellmuth check-called a 58,000 bet on the {5-Spades}{J-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} flop, leading to the {K-Clubs} being placed onto the turn. Kitai led for 88,000 and Hellmuth stood from his seat to get a better view of what was happening.

"You just want to give me those green chips. One hand I reraise you in 40 hands and you still call. You have no patience." said Hellmuth.

"OK, I have ace-jack, I fold" said Hellmuth before adding, "I'm going to get you."

Geshkenbein All In Again

Level 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Vladimir Geshkenbein is trying his best to chip up here in Event #15 but it is definitely still a work in progress.

After moving all-in and finding no callers, Geshkenbein said he had pocket aces and showed the {A-Diamonds}. He then said that he should have limped in preflop.

A couple of hands later and Geshkenbein was under the gun and he pushed his 194,000 stack into the middle. Again, he received no callers and collected only the blinds and antes.

Geshkenbein Moves All In

Level 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Vladimir Geshkenbein moved his short stack all in under the gun and Gordon Vayo called from the button. The blinds got out of the way and the cards were turned up.

Vayo: {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Geshkenbein: {k-Spades}{9-Spades}

Geshkenbein was behind and in need of some help, which he got in a big way when the {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop delivered him trips. The {2-Hearts} turn left Vayo drawing dead, and after the {Q-Clubs} was put out on the river, Geshkenbein was pushed the pot.

The Ladies All Fall for Ruberto

Level 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Tony Ruberto open-shoved for approximately 240,000 from the cutoff and inspired both the button and small blind to fold. Bill Burford then squeezed out his cards and said, "Call."

Ruberto: {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Burford: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

It was unfortunate for Ruberto to have Burford wake up with a big pocket pair, but lady luck smiled on him as the flop came down {2-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. Neither the {4-Spades} turn nor {4-Diamonds} river changed a thing, and Ruberto doubled through.

"Shoot," Burford deadpanned before sending over the chips.

Darner Doesn't Want to Give Ruberto his Chips Back

Level 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

First to act was Tony Ruberto who open-shoved for 248,000 in total. The players folded in turn until the action was on Mark Darner in the big blind. Darner too close to two-and-a-half minutes to make his decision before he folded.

"You didn't want to give 'em back, huh?" asked Ruberto, but he received no reply.

Ruberto Can't Dodge Bullets

Level 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Mark Darner raised to 35,000 and was called by Tony Ruberto in the cutoff, Zachary Korik in the small blind and Bill Burford in the big blind.

The flop came {5-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and all four players checked in turn. The {K-Spades} turn was checked to Darner, who then bet 60,000. Only Ruberto called.

The fifth and final community card was the {7-Clubs} and after a brief pause Darner moved all-in for 185,000. Ruberto eventually made the call only to discover his {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} was second best to Garner's {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}.

Geshkenbein Crowned By Vayo's Kings

Level 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

We happened upon the action with 350,000 already in the pot and a board reading {q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. We do know that Vladimir Geshkenbein had check-raised the flop, but other than that the early details eluded us.

What we do know it Geshkenbein led out for 265,000 on the turn and Gordon Vayo announced that he was all in for 516,000. Geshkenbein didn't seem too excited but made the call nonetheless.

Geshkenbein: {q-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Vayo: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Geshkenbein had flopped top pair with top kicker, but it was no good as Vayo had pocket cowboys. The {8-Clubs} river failed to help the Russian, and he was crippled while Vayo vaulted into the chip lead.
