Lee Over Baumann

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

Gaelle Baumann and Doug Lee took a flop of {5-Spades}{3-Spades}{9-Hearts}. Baumann checked over to Lee who fired out a bet of 550. Baumann called to see the turn.

The dealer produced the {Q-Spades} on fourth street and Baumann checked for a second time. Lee continued his aggression by betting 1,150. Baumann flung out a call and the two watched as the {A-Diamonds} completed the board on the river. Baumann checked for a third time and Lee quickly tapped the table back. Baumann showed {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} but her eights were no good against Lee's {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} for a pair of queens. Lee took down the pot and now sits around 9,500. Baumann's stack has dropped to about 12,000.

The Germans Are Entertaining

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

There's a table in the silver section that is the home to Germany's Fabian Quoss and Heinz Kamutzki, plus Amanda Musumeci and Luc Greenwood, and they're all enjoying themselves.

Kamutzki is making fun of his fellow countryman Quoss' new beard, suggesting that Quoss spends a lot of time grooming it whenever the tournament is on a break.

"I groom it between hands," joked Quoss

"He's even got a special comb. I've been told it has his name on it, but I've not seen it!" said Kamutzki, prompting laughs from the rest of the table.

Kamutzki has been busy adding to his stack between the jokes and laughs and now has 23,000 chips, partly because he raised two hands in a row and both times won the blinds.

Efro Sends One to the Rail

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

"All in," we heard a player announced on the river with a board reading {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{q-Spades}.

"Call," was the response from two-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Eric Froelich. His opponent confidently tabled the {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a rivered straight, but it was no good as the man called "Efro" hald the {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a full house.

Kerr Off to a Good Start

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

On a flop of {4-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}, two players checked over to Steven Kerr, who hails from Orangeville, Ontario. Kerr bet 1,200 on the button, and it did the trick as both his opponents released their hands.

It's not much of a hand, but it gave us a good excuse to introduce you to Kerr and his big stack.

WSOP.com Qualifier Sent to the Rail

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante
WSOP.com qualifier Brandon Merrill
WSOP.com qualifier Brandon Merrill

Brandon Merrill had no doubt been looking forward to this day after qualifying for Event #35: $5,000 Eight-Handed No-Limit Hold'em via WSOP.com. Merrill had the opportunity to test his skills against some of the game's best, but unfortunately for him he wasn't able to parlay his small investment into a big payday.

Merrill was recently eliminated from the tournament, and while we didn't see the hand as it happened, Grayson Ramage was willing to fill us in on some details. As he told it, Merrill's final hand was a three-bet pot that led to an {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop. Merrill check-called a bet, and then got the rest of his stack in on a {4-} turn. Merrill held {a-}{q-Diamonds} for top pair and a flush draw, but it was behind the {j-}{j-} set of Ramage.

The river blanked, and Merrill's day came to an early end. The good news is that he can still get back in action over on WSOP.com, and who knows, maybe we'll see him qualify for another WSOP gold bracelet event!

Kohlberg Gets Baker Thinking

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

David "ODB" Baker checked to Curt Kohlberg on a {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} board and Kohlberg, who is sporting a psychedelic hoodie, bet 1,400 from the next seat across. Baker went deep into the tank for at least 90 seconds before emerging with a reluctant fold.

Baker's day hasn't gone great so far and he has 4,800 chips in front of him. Kohlberg on the other hand is up to 22,600.

Baker and Kohlberg are sharing a table with the likes of Craig McCorkell and Jesse Sylvia, so accumulating chips could prove quite difficult.
