Kuether's Two Pair Unable to Hold Up

Level 6 : 150/300, 0 ante

We get to the table with the board reading {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and a pot-sized bet in front of Joe Kuether. His opponent moved the last of his chips in, for about the same amount as Kuether's bet. The cards were turned over:

Kuether: {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{7-Spades}{3-Spades} for two pair, sevens and threes
Opponent: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} for flush and straight draw, and top pair

Kuether was ahead but his opponent had countless outs. He would hit one of them on the{4-Diamonds} river giving him a flush and Kuether would lose the pot, slipping to 10,500 in chips in the process.
