Chan Bets For Value

Level 8 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Limit Hold'em specialists Paul Volpe and Terrance Chan just ended up clashing, and it was the latter who took down the pot.

Volpe, while enjoying a late dinner, raised from late position and Chan called from the big blind. The flop brought out {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} and Chan check-called a bet.

On the turn the {5-Clubs} popped up and both players checked. The river was the {9-Diamonds} and Chan bet, which got Volpe to tank, and eventually he made the call.

Chan showed {J-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and raked in this pot.

On a {9-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop David Steicke bet and Jan Sjavik raised. Steicke called and on the turn, the {8-Clubs}, he checked. Sjavik bet, Steicke called and the river brought the {3-Clubs}.

Steicke checked again and called Sjavik's bet after about 20 seconds.

"Jack-ten!" Philip Sternheimer guessed, but Sjavik turned over {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} and that was enough to take this pot down.

Froehlich Out, Volpe Up

Level 7 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Self proclaimed Limit Hold'em specialist Paul Volpe has just knocked out fellow WSOP bracelet winner Eric Froehlich. Froehlich, the owner of two WSOP bracelets and once upon a time the youngest winner ever, had an unfortunate stretch of hands and Volpe stacked some of those chips.
