Yakovenko Gets a Safe River

Level 16 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

Nikolai Yakovenko bet on a board of {a-Spades}{4-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{k-Hearts} when blinds Timothy Batow and Jesse Martin checked to him. Both players called and the {a-Clubs} hit the river. Again, it checked to Yakovenko and he bet. Batow called and Martin folded.

"Ace-king," Yakovenko said, showing {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades}. "I was wondering what a safe river would be."

Batow called it a "frustrating runout."

Hirvonen tossed {k-}{2-} in, but his kicker was no good as Linde held {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Clubs}.
