Shin's Cowboys Connect at a Good Time

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Mike Shin
Mike Shin

Brian Valentine opened to 5,000 from under the gun and Mike Shin then moved all in for 40,200 from the hijack. There was confusion between Eric Bonim in the small blind and Valentine, who thought they were also all in, but actually just called Shin's bet.

The flop came {9-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, Bonim moved all in for 14,400 and Valentine called for his last 5,900. All three players flipped over their hands.

Mike Shin: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Brian Valentine: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Eric Bonim: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}

Shin's flopped set was way ahead and he would need to dodge runner-runner or an ace. The turn came the {6-Clubs} and the {q-Hearts} landed on the river. Shin took down the main pot with his set and Valentine took down the side pot with a rivered set. Bonim's aces finished last and he was left with just 7,500.

Kuo's Jacks Eliminate Lewis

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Romain Lewis was down to under 50,000 and open-shipped all in for 48,500 from under the gun. Kitty Kuo asked for a count in middle position and then made the call.

Kitty Kuo: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Romain Lewis: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}

Kuo was ahead with her pair of jacks but the flop of {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} brought some excitement. Lewis picked up a straight draw although a set for him would be no good. The turn was the {5-Diamonds} and the river paired the board with the {10-Hearts}. Kuo's pocket jacks held up to send Lewis to the rail.

Cannuli Starting to Heat Up

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Tom Cannuli
Tom Cannuli

Yorane Kerignard opened to 4,400 from under the gun and Tom Cannuli called from the small blind. The big blind stuck around as well and the flop fell {6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}. Cannuli bet 5,000 and was called by Kerignard.

The turn came the {k-Clubs} and both players checked. The {7-Hearts} landed on the river and both players checked again. Cannuli then tabled {3-Clubs}{3-Spades} for a pair of threes and Kerignard mucked. Cannuli has now surpassed the 100,000 mark for the first time this tournament and is showing no signs of slowing down.

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Marc Macdonnell
Marc Macdonnell

Marc Macdonnell opened to 4,400 from middle position and was called by William Remshardt in the small blind and Bryan Piccioli in the big blind. The flop fell {q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and the action checked around to the {2-Diamonds} on the turn.

Piccioli was the first to take a shot at the pot with a bet of 7,000 but was called by both Macdonnell and Remschart. The {3-Spades} completed the board and all three players checked again. Remschart tabled {8-Spades}{7-Spades} but Macdonnell held {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for a bigger two pair to take down the pot.

Daniel Colpoys
Daniel Colpoys

Daniel Colpoys opened for 3,600 from the cutoff and Chris Bolek then three-bet to 11,500 from the button. Colpoys called and the flop fell {3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Action checked to Bolek who bet 6,000 and was quickly raised by Colpoys to 16,000.

Bolek made the call and the turn fell the {j-Spades}. Both players checked and the river came the {10-Hearts}. Colpoys bet out 43,000 and his opponent thought for a moment before mucking his hand. Colpoys then rolled {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for a pair of threes and smiled as he took in the pot.

Maria Lampropulos

Maria Lampropulos raised to 3,500 from middle position and Tobias Ziegler reraised to 10,000 on the button. The blinds folded and Lampropulos made the call. The flop fell {k-Hearts}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and Lampropulos check-called a bet of 8,000 from Ziegler.
