Van Zadelhoff Wins Two in a Row

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante
Steven van Zadelhoff
Steven van Zadelhoff

Steven van Zadelhoff just won two nice pots in a row to chip up to 16,300.

In the first hand, he check-called a bet of 1,300 with around 2,750 in the pot and a board that read {A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. Van Zadelhoff checked on the {9-Spades} river and the player on the button thought about his decision before eventually giving up the hand.

"You're not gonna believe me," said the player before he checked and saw that Van Zadelhoff had {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}.

In the next hand, Sasha Liu raised to 600 and Van Zadelhoff made it 1,900. Liu called the bet and the {2-Hearts}{8-Spades}{A-Spades} was spread out.

Both players checked, but Liu lead out with a bet of 3,000 on the {5-Clubs} turn. Van Zadelhoff put in a stack of 1,000 chips to raise and Liu folded.

Hall Has a Bad Start

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

Cate Hall late registered this tournament and is already in bad shape.

On a board showing {7-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and with around 3,000 in the middle, both Hall and her opponent checked.
The same action happened on the {3-Diamonds} river and Hall mucked her hand when his opponent showed {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}.

She was left with a short stack of 2,500.

Greenstein Loses Big

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante
Barry Greenstein
Barry Greenstein

On a raised pot and a board of {10-Spades}{8-Spades}{j-Clubs}{5-Spades}, Barry Greenstein bet 2,000 after his opponent checked, and the latter called.

The river brought a {4-Spades} and Greenstein moved all in after another check. With {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} in his hand, Greenstein had to muck after his opponent showed {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} for the flush. He was left with crumbs after this hand.

A few hands later, Greenstein pushed his last 550 with {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and was called by the player in the big blind with {j-Hearts}{q-Spades}.

A {8-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} runout gave him a straight and a double-up to 1,200.

Mizzi Sucks Out

Level 4 : 75/150, 25 ante
Sorel Mizzi
Sorel Mizzi

Sorel Mizzi got a part of his stack in the middle against a short-stacked player with about 3,000 left.

Mizzi had {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}, but he had to win against the {A-Spades}{A-Clubs} of his opponent.

The {9-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{A-Diamonds} flop was a bad one for Mizzi, but the {Q-Spades} turn gave him some more outs. There was a verbal reaction from the table when the dealer put down the {8-Hearts} river to give Mizzi a straight.
