Albini Takes from Sexton

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Frankie O'Dell was not going to be pushed around and said so in table chat after just showing a "bluff" against Farhad Mobassery.

"If you have it, you have it," Mobassery shrugged and mucked his cards. O'Dell had the {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} showing and showed his {A-Clubs}{6-Hearts} in the hole.

One table over, a three-way pot emerged between Scott Cole, Steven Albini, and Paul Sexton.

Scott Cole: {X-}{X-} / {Q-Clubs}{A-Hearts} fold
Steven Albini: {X-}{X-} / {J-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts} / {X-}
Paul Sexton: {X-}{X-} / {2-Clubs}{5-Spades}{K-Spades}{6-Spades} / {X-}

Albini bet fourth and Sexton raised, which forced out Cole and resulted in a call from Albini. On fifth to seventh, Albini check-called all the way, the last bet rather reluctantly, and turned over his {A-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for two pair. Sexton mucked and dropped below Albini in the counts.

Ferguson Doesn't Bite the Pump Fake

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Chris Ferguson: {8-Spades}{5-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} / {K-Spades}{4-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{3-Spades}
Julien Martini: {9-}{8-}{8-} / {A-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

Chris Ferguson had two kings on his board when we arrived. The action was on sixth street where Ferguson led out, earning a call from Julien Martini who had three hearts including an ace on his board.

Ferguson checked the river and Martini cut out a bet. Ferguson paused for a moment.

"Come on, Chris. Come on, Chris," Martini started talking to Ferguson.

Ferguson eventually threw in the chips and Martini knew he was busted. He opened his pair of eights and Ferguson scooped the pot.

Fleck Moves Ahead of Ferguson

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Chris Ferguson: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{K-Spades} / {6-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Katherine Fleck: {K-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds} / {9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

Katherine Fleck and Chris Ferguson both checked on fifth street and Ferguson fired on sixth. Fleck sighed but eventually tossed in calling chips to see the river.

No further bets were made and Ferguson found that his hand finished second, leaving Fleck with the pot. Ferguson is now down to ten big bets while Fleck leap-frogged him on the provisional leaderboard.

Moore Triples Up

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Julien Martini: {X-}{X-} / {9-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{4-Clubs} / {X-}
Michael Moore: {X-}{X-} / {J-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{10-Hearts} / {X-}
Chris Ferguson: {X-}{X-} / {5-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} / {X-}

Four bets each went in on third by Michael Moore, Chris Ferguson, and Julien Martini. The former only had 3,500 behind and all three players checked on fourth. Moore went all in on fifth and both opponents called. The remaining two active players checked down sixth and seventh.

"I have two pair," Ferguson announced and showed the {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. Moore had that beat with the {A-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{2-Spades} for aces and deuces and Martini mucked.

Hourani Has Superior Two Pair

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Elias Hourani: {K-}{9-}{5-} / {9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Mark Barile: {K-}{3-}{Q-} / {3-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

Four ways to fourth street, Mark Barile led out to the pot and only Elias Hourani stuck around. Hourani kept calling on fifth and sixth and then accidentally checked on the river before Barile made his turn. Barile asked the dealer whether the check is valid if he checks or not. When he got a positive answer, he tapped the felt.

"Kings up," Barile said, turning up kings and threes. But he was a hair short of Hourani's hand as he finished with better kings up.

Stephen Rivers: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

The cards of Darren Shebell were already in the muck as he had briefly flashed a queen-high straight only for Stephen Rivers to scoop the full double with the nut flush.

Bertrand Grospellier also chipped up since the last break, while Shebell is suddenly the short stack once more.

Painter Sends Troy to the Value Town

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Picking up the action on fourth street, Jameson Painter was betting with ace-eight suited and Maxwell Troy called. Painter then barreled on every following street. Troy called him down but quickly sent his cards to the muck when Painter showed him aces up.

Jameson Painter: {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} / {8-Spades}{A-Spades}{6-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}
Maxwell Troy: {X-}{X-}{X-} / {2-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

Chris Ferguson: {X-}{X-} / {9-Spades}{K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} / {X-}

On the tail end of a hand between Julien Martini and Chris Ferguson, the latter bet sixth with a pair of kings showing and Martini called. Ferguson bet seventh and Martini raised. Ferguson eventually called and claimed the pot with {J-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} for a flush.

Julien Martini: {X-}{X-} / {2-Clubs}{3-Clubs} fold
Katherine Fleck: {X-}{X-} / {5-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} fold
Jameson Painter: {X-}{X-} / {3-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{10-Spades}{8-Clubs} / {X-}
Chris Ferguson: {X-}{X-} / {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{J-Spades}{3-Spades} / {X-}

In the next hand, Ferguson completed and picked up three callers. Fourth was checked to Jameson Painter and he bet. Ferguson called and Katherine Fleck called, while Martini folded. Ferguson then bet fifth to force out Fleck, while Painter called. Ferguson bet once more on sixth to pick up a call. Both players checked on seventh and Ferguson won the pot with {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for a pair of aces.

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Robert Campbell
Robert Campbell

Robert Campbell and Elias Hourani tangled in a pot that would see Campbell getting eliminated in a cruel fashion.

Campbell was betting on fourth and fifth street and then ended up all in when Hourani bet on sixth, covering Campbell's remaining stack. Campbell committed his chips in but he heard terrible news:

"Three deuces," Hourani said and Campbell realized that his opponent hit a set on sixth street.

Campbell still had a chance to outdraw his rival but he found a blank six on the river and walked away in 20th place.

Robert Campbell: {A-Spades}{9-Hearts} / {9-Spades}{A-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} / {6-}
Elias Hourani: {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{2-Hearts} / {6-Hearts}
