Fleck Squeezes Out a Flush to Double on the Last Hand Before Dinner

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Katherine Fleck completed with an ace and Jameson Painter called, having an ace in the door as well. Andrew Van Dervolgen was the bring-in and he raised, getting calls from both Fleck and Painter.

Van Dervolgen continued on fourth but Fleck raised with her board showing two clubs. Painter escaped and Van Dervolgen stuck around.

He fired on fifth again and three-bet when Fleck raised, putting her at risk. She called off with a flush draw.

Van Dervolgen was ahead with nines and while he failed to improve, Fleck spiked a pair of fours on sixth for additional outs. She peeled a club on the river to fill her flush draw and doubled to 67,500. Meanwhile, Van Dervolgen was left with just 7,000.

Andrew Van Dervolgen: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} / {3-Clubs}{A-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} / {X-}
Katherine Fleck: {Q-Clubs}{6-Clubs} / {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{4-Spades} / {9-Clubs}

Warren Colman Eliminated in 23rd Place ($2,982)

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Warren Colman
Warren Colman

Within two hands, the stack of Warren Colman had been reduced to zero with Farhad Mobassery taking most of it and Frankie O'Dell claiming the remainder in the next hand.

Warren Colman: {X-}{X-} / {K-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} / {X-}
Farhad Mobassery: {X-}{X-} / {9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{10-Spades}{K-Diamonds} / {X-}

Colman completed with the king and Mobassery called before Colman bet fourth to seventh. Mobassery called from fourth to sixth and raised on seventh. Colman called and mucked when he was shown the {Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{9-Spades} for a straight by Mobassery.

Warren Colman: {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} / {8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{5-Clubs} / {K-Hearts}
Frankie O'Dell: {Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs} / {J-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts} / {10-Spades}

In the next hand, Colman was all in on third and O'Dell looked him up. O'Dell ended up with just a pair of jacks, but Colman couldn't connect at all to bust out in 23rd place for $2,982.

"Some Guys Play Great, Some Guys Catch Great"

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Chris Ferguson
Chris Ferguson

Chris Ferguson: {7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} / {5-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Julien Martini: {X-}{X-}{X-} / {2-Spades}{J-Spades}{A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

We arrived for a betting round on sixth street where Chris Ferguson bet and Julien Martini called. Martini checked to Ferguson on the river and Ferguson fired again. Martini called.

Ferguson said he had a straight and shoved the {7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} to prove it. Martini's hand couldn't compete.

"Some guys play great, some guys catch great," Maxwell Troy, who is sitting on the table, said. "I'm not saying who is who, but..."

Ferguson laughed and said that he agreed.

Then Katherine Flecke joined the debate, saying that she'd rather be lucky and win than play great. Naturally, the table agreed with her.

Barile More Than Doubles

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Perry Friedman: {X-}{X-} / {6-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Clubs}{A-Spades} - fold
Elias Hourani: {X-}{X-} / {3-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{6-Clubs}{Q-Spades} / {X-}
Mark Barile: {X-}{X-} / {K-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} / {X-}

Mark Barile completed with a king and was called by Perry Friedman and Elias Hourani. Barile bet fourth and was called two ways before a bet on fifth was called only by Hourani. Barile paired his nine and bet, Hourani called, and Barile was then all in for fewer than a full bet on seventh.

Hourani checked his cards and folded {8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} face up.

George Alexander

George Alexander busted shortly after the redraw. He was sweating his river card with the other six face up.

George Alexander: {3-Spades}{K-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{7-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} / {4-Clubs}
Maxwell Troy: {A-}{9-}{Q-}{7-}{10-}{5-}{9-}

Alexander couldn't peel any card that would improve his pair of sevens and he lost his stack to Maxwell Troy, who had a pair of nines.

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

With action on seventh street, Joel Tushnet was betting his remaining chips into a big pot and Elias Hourani snapped him off.

"I call, I have a straight," Hourani said and quickly shuffled his holdings in order to expose the king-high straight.

Tushnet sighed and opened his hole cards before he departed, revealing aces up.

Joel Tushnet: {A-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} / {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

Farhad Mobassery: {Q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{A-Hearts} / {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

Within quick succession, Mark Radoja and Ashton Griffin were eliminated from the same table. Griffin ended up all in and at risk in a three-way all in against Chris Ferguson and Farhad Mobassery. Griffin was all in after fourth and saw a raise and a call behind.

Mobassery bet fifth and Ferguson check-called before sixth and seventh were checked down.

Griffin ended up with just a pair of queens, while Ferguson had kings and eights to score the knockout.

Campbell Makes Queens Up

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Robert Campbell: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{5-Spades} / {6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}
Darren Shebell: {X-}{X-}{X-} / {5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{K-Spades}

In a five-way completed pot, Robert Campbell bet on fourth street and all of his opponents called. He fired again on fifth where his board was showing three consecutive cards. Only Darren Shebell matched the bid and he snap-called two more bets on sixth and seventh, respectively.

"Queens up," Campbell said.

"You had queens in the hole?" Shebell asked but Campbell remained quiet and started stacking his chips.
